Eric Pollard is fucking cool

I had to do an Art Project last year where I had to mimic someone's style of painting, so I picked one of Eric Pollards paintings (His Dragon ad on the back of Freeskier from awhile ago). We also had to create a tribute to an artist, so I picked him again and made a big mountain diarama and put all of his paintings on it and made mini skis and a bunch of other stuff. He's pretty cool
 
grew up with his wife as my down the street Neighbor.. Erin... and through knowing her i met pollard. one night at ski bowl i took some laps with him.... fuck. he is good.. and a great person. they way he looks at the mtn as a canvas and his ski tracks are brush strokes and shit.... hes fundementaly one of the best skiers ever... oh btw he hold state of Oregon Race Records...
 
one time i was at a signing and Pollard wasn't signing stuff cause he had Swine Flu or some shit but i walked over to him anyways and made him sign my poster of him, which he was totally chill about, which was cool cause i was one of the only people who got a signature from him. makes him a cool dude in my book.

also i dig his skiing but Nimbus' choice in soundtracks is pretty fuckin lame, i think i might've fallen asleep if Contrast had been 5 minutes longer.
 
Yeah, I'm going to disagree with you, and i think most people will. Nimbus consistently has the best soundtracks of any film company, bar none.

none of it gets me pumped. i mean, i like the music, i just don't want to listen to it when i'm watching a ski movie. maybe when i'm driving down the highway or climbing into bed.
 
Pretty sure sammy lives in summit view with wiley too. last i hear pollard was in welches but maybe he moved. i'm from hood as well, dope town.
 
Yeah, he actually lives in the suburbs of Portland, but he has been looking for a house in Parkdale for 3 years
 
Pollard is an awesome skier with sic style.

And nimbus make great movies with sweet chill sound tracks. Great concept, shreddin at home or travelling witth your mates, promoting a sport that is a life style for all of us.

I reckon that is cool.

To many haters on here... not cool.
 
I personally think this thread is absolutely right, I love what Eric is doing, he brings his own style and view of the sport and does whatever he wants, I have crazy respect for him.
 
When they used almost cut my hair by CSNY it was sick. I'm still waiting for them to use down by the river or cowgirl in the sand, both neil young songs. Their edits and movies are the ones I've rewatched the most times. And I wish I could ski like pollard/the rest of nimbus.
