My 60 year old history teacher today randomly spent half an hour playing videos of Eric Pollard. Thought 'it was one of the most beautiful things he's ever seen'. It was pretty winn.

no, i said that people may hate due to the fact that pollard is NOT a park rat. this site seems to have a general dislike to any skiers who dont sit in the park, at least from what i have seen
 
you have seen WRONG that pretty much doesnt happen...there is much more hate on park rats then there is on non-parkrats
 
what are you talking about? absolutely no one hates on pollard, big mountain or pow skiing, but people get shit on for being park rats in almost every ski gabber thread.
 
Is the Hood River the river in oregon thats famous for windsurfing and kiteboarding? if it is, you are really lucky
 
He's by far the most entertaining rider to watch in my opinion. He's got the buttery smooth style of Delorme but with his own twist on it. And he's pretty much got it made in the ski industry...
 
My old high school English teacher was like that. We watched claim and a Warren miller movie in class. He was a ski bum in Taos for a really long time before a became a teacher. And he smoked weed too, saw a bong in his car once when he asked me to grab something out of it for him

There's nothing wrong with threads like these. You're not obligated to post in them. After all, pro skiers always can do with more exposure, they do deserve it.
 
for a Design Survey class i had we had to interview a designer. I emailed Pollard with 10 questions and he responded with like two pages and a picture. sooo legit.

Met Eric and his wife today, he gave me a huge care package of a signed poster, LINE bag, Causewell jacket, Line die-cuts, and a Dakine flannel. If you don't believe me I will post pics.
 
Eric Pollard is sick. These are my favorite skis he's done.

as someone said earlier, i firmly believe it if was not for pollard, i would not be skiing the way i ski (rock ep's sfb's and lizzies)...

This could sound pretty douchey but I might not even be skiing still if it was not for him. I cannot remember the full quote but he said something along the lines of when i look at a mountain i see a blank canvas and my skis as the brush stroke.
