Epoxy?

All right, once again i have some base repairs. Somehow after u got done skiing i managed to screw up my base. Theres like a sliver of it sticking out, and under it, the fiberglass is showing. If i just put epoxy in the hole, and just put a C-clamp on it overnight, will that fix it? What kind of epoxy do i need?

jb weld...i really dont get whats wrong with your ski, but if its just base repair you dont need any clamp..delam, sidewall, etc use a clamp..try irwin quickgrip clamps...

Part of the base is actually sticking out of, like its bent up like a hang nail. If i press it down, then it is flush with the rest of the base, nothing is really missing, just a chunk is sticking out. I was just wondering if i just put epoxy in the hole under it would work, then id C clamp it down so its flush, until it dries. Its hard to explain but i'll put pics up after school.

you will probably have an easier time if you post pics. someone would be able to give you better advice

I get it and I'm french so I guess your all dumb lol.

that could work. just make sure teh epoxy dont come out of the hole that might fuck up your base a little

may be put some translucid tape all around the hole so the extra epoxy would simply stick to teh tape that will later be removed.

personnaly, I would simply cut teh base part that is sticking out, drop some epoxy on the core shot then put some p-tex in there.

It would take a whole bunch of more time to do it that way tho and I'm not asure if the results would be better.

I did the same type of repair on my friends ski..Cut out where the base is sticking up. Fill with expoxy most of the way, but not all the way, then fill the rest in with ptex.

It should be fine for a while, at least till you get around to fixing it professionaly. I remember when my old line chronics delamed at the tip I used epoxy to try and fix it and it lasted a while.

If you do it yourself then just cut off anything sticking out and fill with epoxy. P-tex drip candle repairs don't last, even if it's on top of epoxy.

Better yet, have your shop do it properly.

Theres really no base missing...its just sticking up.

I would go to a shop but i just blew my last 10 bucks to get another core shot fixed...

I have never seen anything like that on Armada's bases. Their bases are super tough! Its just the topsheets that Ive always had problems with.

JB Weld, Marine grade epoxy, or expoy gel all work great!

thin layer of marine grade epoxy then before its completely dry epoxy the rest. I would let it cure for at least a day though. then get your bases ground.

I wish i could say that about my bases, this is the 3rd base repair ive had to do in like 2 weeks. I had to get one huge core shot, this, and another tinier fix like this one, except that one wasnt deep enough so i just cut it off. So far im very disappointed in my bases.
