Epoxy on skis

So I forgot my p tex at home and was wondering if 5 minute epoxy is good on gashes for skis.....I don't wont my skis to get waterlogged.

I'm thinking that maybe if you epoxy your bass, it won't hold wax as well? Just a thought, no first hand knowledge.

i wish it hold on cause i just repair a huge hole in my base ( under foot ,where I grind) and i tried to put an edges in the epoxy lol really not sure if it will stay XD

maybe just glaze over where it cuts into the core for now, and hold off filling it completely until you get the ptex.

Not gonna slide well, most epoxy will crack once flexed too. If its a pair of park skis and you ski rails, try it and tell us how it goes.

I was always taught to epoxy core shots to get your ptex to stay better. Its probly better than nothing imo just go back and do it right when you have time in the meantime you wont have delam problems

Yeah I use 10 minute epoxy to seal sidewall and topsheet gashes all the time and it works stellar. This is actually super critical if you own A-Bangs or any othe wooden sidewall ski. Avoid getting it on the base if you can but if you do it should pop off if you pick at it with your fingernail. Good luck!

Oh in that case I've done that exact same thing with marine epoxy. still holding strong and I took them into the shop and showed them my hodge podge job and all they did was sand it a little smoother so it wasn't so ugly. good luck
