does anyone you know, family or friends, have any kind of variation of epilepsy?

if you do, does that person still have seizures even though they are taking medicine?
 
theres a girl in my grade with epilepsy. i think she takes medicine for it but she does maddddd coke so she has a lot of seizures. shes had about 3 during school since september.
 
seizures are fucking scary as hell..at a paintball tournament i went to some babe on the stage pretended to lift up her shirt and some dude started seizuring
 
yeah my friend has epilapsy. But you wouldnt even know it. Hes completly normal i never even new till i was in the school office and i looked at the bored where it showed everyones disabilities.
 
I have a friend with epilepsy.Its a weird one.It hits when he get up in the morning.His face breaks out with red dots,he is confused and semi concious.He says that it doesn't hurt.I know he was taking medication for preventing it, but im not sure if he is still on it now...
 
i used to have epilepsy for a while but i grew out of it... that shit sucked.. cat scans all the time, weird doctors testing me. It sucked
 
yea my brother just got out of the hospital after being in there for a week. like 2 weeks ago he fainted/passed out and woke up after like a minute, but didnt think it was anything related to a seizure. then last week at work it happened in the morning, they called the paramedics and took him to the hospital, in the hospital it happened again so they immediately started running tests and shit and gave him cat scans and monitored his heart to see if that had anything to do with it. so just two days they determined that it is a variation of epilepsy but his seizures are like violent or physical movement ones, they were just brief periods of unconsciousness. so hes on medicine right now and they are waiting for test results to see if the medicine is making the blood vessel in his brain go away that is making it happen...they said he had 5 of them in the past two weeks and whenver someone has 5 seizures they cant drive for like a year or something but his situation isnt as severe so they are going to lessen it to like 3 months i guess. i was just wondering what other people know about this stuff and the general info. at first i was worried too because it came out nowhere and i didnt know if i would get it also, but the doctors said its not hereditary and that i should be fine...pretty scary shit though
 
you can still have seizures while taking medication. If you have found the right medicine the chances are lower but still there. Im a lifeguard, i know my crap
 
i know someone who does, and she takes meds, but still occasionally has seizures. i think the meds are only meant to lessen the amount of them and make them less severe
 
yes. one of my friends from high school has it and i haven't talked to her in a while but she kept switching meds cuz none of them worked. it was horrible to see what it was doing to her. the meds were just helpers for her but she had a rare case, most people on meds for epilepsy have it very well contained and it is rare to have a seizure, but they do happen every once in a while, something that cna't be prevented. but the meds def keep them to a minimum
 
I've been around a lot of seizures, but one of my friends gets em when he's off his meds (money reasons), he's had some success controlling them by sleeping as much as possible, but he's actually had 2 behind the wheel, if he has another seizure behind the wheel, he'll lose his lisence forever.

A lot of seizures are not that violent, when most people picture a seizure in their head, they see someone having a Gran Mal seizure, but there are all different kinds, the oddest I've seen was a narcaleptic seizure, when the kid just froze up and stared into nothing for a good 2 minutes.
 
I have epilepsy and it sucks. I'm taking meds and have switched them around tons of times and i still have seizures. Everytime I have a seizure I have to start over on a 6 month waiting period to get my driver's licsense and I'm 18
