Epic park fails

Today I was ridin in the park and decided just to do a mute as big as possible off of a somewhat medium sized jump. Then at the peak of the mute I actually pulled my ski right off my boot then ate shit. It was hilariouse.

Anyone else have any epic/funny park fails to share?

My brother trying to hit rails with gapers on the landings, and then him yelling at them. pretty funny

This weekend at Big Sky there is a race going on, and a bunch of kids/teens/young adults are going through the park during their free time. I can't count on both hands how many kids on race skis I have seen (with arms up in the air, and weight on the back foot) eating shit on the various boxes and rails under the Swifty chair.

i called drop on a jump, went to turn to face the jump as to commence my drop, and just fell while not moving

so i've just learned switch onto street rails, and i enthusiastically proceed to show my friends. going from stopped to switch, i catch a tails, which decides he hates my other tail, and my skiis promptly split, leaving me on my ass, wildly embarrassed. /fml

of course, looking back, it's hilarious.

ah this weekend comin into the jump caught my edge in the soft snow double ejected and face first into the jump. I then rolled off the side of the jump in pain and fell acouple of feet. I fucked my kidney and ribs pretty bad to

well i suck at park since its my first year so i was at keystone and i had been dukin it out with this 15 ft box sometimes id get it sometimes id fail, and i had been workin at it for a good week for hittin it hours and i had it dialed in. then some other new kids who were like me beginners were gonna hit it too but they were a bit sketched out so i talked them through it like dont sike yourself out or you will completely fail so i talked em through the basics and i said id show em how to hit it and before i went i go im a try and do this but i may fail so bare with me so i already siked myself out so i couldnt not hit the box when i already said i was goin so i was nervous and when i went to pop my one ski came around but my back one got caught underneath the box so i fall and end up sliding face first down the rest of the 10 feet. so there i sat embarassed but i played it off and showed that siking yourself out will fuck you up

Learning boxes for the time last week, hit my hip on the box twice. Later in the day slid out on the icy landing of a hip jump. I fell on the same hip.

not park but I was at the top of a pretty gnarly line that had a spine, two cliffs(20ft then a 15) and it was pretty steep and lined with trees. Right as I dropped in I got psyched out and lost my edging then hit a small tree and when ass over tea kettle down the whole chute.
Ended up cleaning it a couple of days later but without the laughter of the people on the lift

a couple weeks ago i was in the park with a bunch of friends from school that i had never ridden with so i said i was gonna go hit the first jump in the park i think it was 25 not to sure but the were all stoked cause they thought it was a huge jump well on the way into the jump i got a edge and at shit rolled over the lip and fell 5-8 feet onto the deck

Basically, 180'd a jump, hit the knuckle, and bounced onto my back and rolled over my neck. Not the most pleasant feeling.

was showing my little brother 50-50 180 out, dug my edge into the box(slight up butter box) and fell about five feet flat ice on my hip, shoulder.
cracked a rib, bruised soft tissue in my hip and got a black eye,

I slammed my mouth into my pole on a landing and had to ski the rest of the day with a rediculously swollen lip

Park crew moved the barrel in the barrel tap jump higher fomr the week before. It was kinda hard to see. I don't know why, but I decided to 3 tap it on the first run of the day, no test run. Hit the jump, tails nailed the middle of the barrel, double ejaculated, and I flipped over in the air and somersaulted backwards over my neck.

I tried a bindsoul on a RIDICLY low box and ski cought and just threw me down hella hard. I just got up and was like, okay owwe that hurt.

Then overshooting/undershooting jumps sucks. Do that alot. Or when you do a rail YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO, so you go up super confident and you just catch edge and eat shit.

today i was going on to a super wide low box that was set about 3 inches of from the snow really slowly... long story short my momentum was wrong

ahaha no i dont think anyone knows anything about periods here on newschoolers maybe you should post a thread about it in gear talk and use alot of capitals swearing and exclamation points like you really mean it and that way everyone will read it and be like whoa this kid is mad and stuff

Oh yeah.................................... there are the missing periods. Found em!

so theres a tiny handrail in the park about 10 feet long with a support in the middle and i apperantly didnt jump high enough and caught a ski under the rail just before the middle support, double eject slammed on my side in the ribs and got winded for a good 30 seconds. my thumb for some reason couldnt move for 2 days after too.

That's what I had, but tomahawk'd down backwards and landed on my wrist. Broken, fml. Oh well, I had to keep quiet for 6 weeks, but after one week I was back skiing again, not doing any park, just yet though.

clipped the front of a flat-down box i had done a million times, lost both skis and slid down the down part on my face

there was freezing rain/sleet while i was lapping the park, im going to hit the c-box thingy its like 6 in wide and as soon as i get on my back ski catches because of the ice on the rail and pops off, i go off the back side of the c athe realize my ski is gone, so i have to hike up and get it.

and this was all infront of some gapers who were going to hit it for the first time, but unfortunatly i discouraged them and didnt get to see them eat shit. :(

i never understood why people start to backflip as soon as they hit inclines and go airborn. just stop it from happening. and you'd think racers would have better form in the air, every time i see racing and they get air, they sprawl out. i mean i'm sure it's harder but I think better form through the air would do them some good.

Tried my first misty 5, landed leaning to far up hill, double ejected and slammed my face into the snow. My teeth went into my lip and I was spitting up blood and my nose was bleeding all over the hill. I was way too stoked to feel any pain. Had the fattest lip for the next couple of days. Gonna give er again next weekend

went to do just a smooth mute 3 over a pretty big jump and i fell somehow i dont know, long story short, i landed on my pole causing a puncture wound about 4 inches deep in my thigh above my knee. After letting it heal for a bit, me and my friends tried to see how far we could put pencils in the hole.

i tried to punch front, but i hit a gaper when i was inverted and it hurt. luckily i was wearing a helmet. and i wouldnt have landed that anyway

k, that came out a little wrong. I meant that they didnt believe i stabbed myself, so i showed them by just poking it a little. It sounds really gross and it WAS really gross. but that came out totally wrong and i dont know how to say what i mean.

happened to me a month ago... it was on a hip and i went fairly huge.. and just landed on my right foot and then collapsed to my face.. funny, but it hurt when i smashed my ribs on the ski that i pulled off

Double entendre, whoaaaa!!!

My contribution to this thread is not one of a fail, so much as a win. I skied through the park on April Fool's day one year rocking snowlerblades ('twas the local gaper day) and received innumerable comments on how I was the first person using "trick skis" in the park where they're meant to be.

Not exactly in the park but me and my friends found a log-rail in the woods at a local mountain... Went to drop, didnt realize the small root popping out of the ground. Proceeded to eject out of one ski and hit myself in the face with the other.
