EP Pro's?

so i know this is probably a huge repost, but i searched and didnt find the answer to what i was looking for.
i am pretty interested in getting EP pros, i love that they have a lot of rocker, are almost symmetrical, and are pretty soft to be playful. what i was wondering though, was can they shred big, open bowls? i am a pretty aggressive skier, and want more than anything to have a ski that i can lay over, make huge surf turns, and be confident on, but also take in the trees. (Armada JJ's matched the description perfectly, but the shop i am getting a job at is a Line dealer, not Armada, and i want something a bit more playful)
So, NS, can EP Pros handle the big stuff?
 
I'm not planning on straightlining chutes in AK, i just need to know if they are beefy enough to handle large radius, somewhat high speed turns in fresh, or crud.
 
How much do you weigh? I have a pair that I am trying to sell cause I find them to be too soft for charging. On hardpack/ice its even more noticeable.
 
I own a pair, and I can tell you alot of it is preference. They are very soft, but also very snappy. I personally do not have trouble with high speed turning, although the performance suffers in very chopped hard crud. I didn't have a problem on most things, and preferred them over my thin skis in slush and corn.

BUT if you are skiing them in the backseat, or if you are not creating proper angles, you will get bucked. But that is the story with most skis. They will not make you a better skier, but they will make pow more enjoyable.
 
i dont plan on ever using them on hardpack, they will be my pow only skis. the most non-pow i would ever do is maybe a park lap or two after the mountain has gotten tracked out. i weigh about 140, and i am a pretty aggressive skier.
 
honestly you might be surprised and love the hardpack performance. they seriously will load up and you can almost pop/ollie them between turns like a slalom when you load them up. seriously so fun. if they could handle the super wet hard crud in the pnw it would be a great ski. other than crud one of the most fun skis i have been on.
 
i had a dream i was skiing on them last night. they were really really fun in my dream, and i was amazed by them. i think thats reason enough to believe that i'm all set getting EP Pros. but really, thanks for the help, im probably going to get a pair.
 
after a few runs when stuff starts getting tracked out, EPs become hell. COnsider something stiffer, oh lets say on3p caylors
 
If u wanna charge go for the benchetlers they will handel anything, and u can do those big surfy turns (almost same ski as JJ) if your place is is line atomic owns line so they will have benchetlers
 
^^not entirely true, it all depends on the importer....my shop only has line, no atomic ....
 
Why are you guys arguing about brands? No single company is better than another company. It depends on what you're looking for.
 
not really. they just flex out and you are effectively on ski blades. i have pretty damn strong legs for my size and it is night and day going from my eps in the morning to chopsticks after lunch, trust me, its the ski that cant handle the crud.

i 100% endorse thomas's statement... which is why my eps are gone and caylors are on order
 
i would go for chetlers over jj's hands down. jj's just felt waaaaaay too hooky when i skied them. basically here is how i felt... the chetler just felt like a better version of the jj. it carved nearly as well, was fatter so it can slay deeper stuff. the jj just felt like i would be scared to go fast on unless you took an angle grinder to the edges and just rounded the shit out of the contact points. that is probably one of the hookiest skis i have ever been on. i dont know i guess i need to ski it in pow but everywhere else it just felt kinda shady. chetlers on the otherhand felt great everywhere
 
ummmm 15m = near slalom radius =hooky at speed or chetler

18m = perfect for a fat ski, just slightly under standard 20-22m radius of most skis

anyway, i respect that opinion though. lots of people thought the jj was awesome. i just found it to be way too grabby for my tastes and would much rather have a ski i feel comfortable going fast on than a ski that is fun under 30. but everyone has their own idea of a fun ski.... which is what makes skiing awesome and have so many different designs, so OP pick what sounds fun to you man, honestly there really aren't any terrible skis out there anymore, everything will be fun somewhere
 
yeah i really dont know. EP's are stiffer this year, but i skied JJs and really liked em. and from what i have heard, bents are amazing, plus they look sick. but i dont know. it will be a while before i have enough money to get them, or snow to use them.
