Ep pro or maden ak

have to make a decision and help would be great

Im trying to decide between a pair of 06/07 k2 maden ak's 179 with rossignol axial 140 bindings or a pair of 07/08 line ep pros with sth 12's 186. I am 5'11 and 160 lbs. Would be getting them just for powder days as I have a pair of stls for crappy conditions and park. Looking for a ski that will effortlessly float and be able to drop 15-40 foot cliffs and hit 20-50 foot jumps.

Thanks for your feedback

Yeah if your looking strictly playful pow ski go ep, but be aware they are absolute noodles and larger cliffs won't go to well. I have a pair of the enemies and love em, i got the 189 as im 6' 3 but its an awesome all around ski great for pow but still lots of fun on groomers and it'll be more suited for big drops.

They are both pretty playful, but the biggest difference is obviously the rocker. The EP pros are a less of a charger ski, maybe better for buttering. And for big jumps, I'd go with the AK enemies (I think that's what the 06/07s are called.) Some even use them as a fat park ski. They will even carve a bit on groomers. It sounds like you are looking at specific ski packages, but if not, go with this years bacons. Super fun and versatile.

if you plan on doing smaller cliffs (less than 20 ft) go for eps. otherwise, they are wayyy too soft for bigger drops/jumps

assuming youre talking about the made'ns with the black/grey topsheets, then youre looking at quite possibly the best ski graphic ever made.

theyre a soft fat ski, super fun in the trees, but with their traditional construction, theyre still gonna perform well if youve got crud to rip though, not just deep snow.

ep pros are going to float better, theyre also super soft but with a tip/tail rocker. new fangled powder specific design lets them kill it in deep snow, but isnt going to be as stable in the crud and those 6" of fresh days.

Those are amazing graphics. It's almost like they are old scriptures with anorexic demons on them. Crushing helis topsheet and tail/nose rivets are badass. Too bad K2 discontinued this ski.

Im so glad i picked up that years model right before they discontinued them, such an awesome ski i dont see myself getting rid of them for a while

The best pow skier at my resort rides them and says he will never stop riding them. He swears by them.

get EP's ive heard nothing but good things about em.
super fat, playful and lightweight
sounds like a great powder ski dont it!?!

ok i feel like a complete dick.
2nd thread steal of the night.
but if the ep's are too noodly for bigger jumps/drops and really bad on groomers and crud would the Hellbent or Moment Bibby pro be any better for this? i know they arent as noodly
