snow depends on ocean currents and the air pressure that leaves the coast for the land. Without a lot of atlantic hurricanes and pacific mosoons there is an excess amount of warm energized water moving north, basicaly I think we may get good snow on the west coast.

Just presented this theory to my advisor, a climatoloigist and he belives that the connection between ocean surface patterns and snow is very true.
