Ok so I dont have the money to get into videography, and ive always loved taking pictures at my cottage with my moms dslr. So I think Im going to get a DSLR, probably a d40, d60, d3000, or rebel xsi. So after SEARCHBARING for a bit, i found that the d60 isnt worth it. the d40 is pretty much the same except more megapixels that dont really matter anymore and the iso which adds to much noise on the d60. so then i looked at the d3000. its a new camera from nikon which is pretty much the new d60. dont know much about this camera. anyone help with that? also, ive looked at the canon rebel xsi. i heard people saying that it is flimsier then the d60 but it also has a more advanced body. my other question is, what are some good lenses that i could pick up for these cameras. i know the d40 and d60 dont have an auto focus motor so i need a lense with those. i shoot alot of scenery at my cottage in the summer, i will be shooting skiing this winter, and im going on a family trip to paris around christmas so i want a camera that will be good for all those things. thanks alot for any help. +k

If you are thinking of the D3000, I would go with the D5000, it doesnt hold your hand as much, has video, and isnt to much more money

the d3000 is actually the new d40 since thats out of production, i would think thats a solid choice but with regards to ^^^ saying get the d5000 its about an extra what 200 bucks but it takes great pictures and is a proven cam unlike the newer d3000 also if you get a d5000 be carefull i herd there were recals on a bunch of them

the d5000 shoots video in a more compressed format and its videomode is all around worse than the t1i. That made me choose the t1i instead of it and i'm loving it! check a few threads down on this page and you can see my thread with a test video I made with the t1i.

I'd go with that, granted its a bit more money
