Enough dancing on rails

initially i was making a joke out of 90 pretzel 90s because i do not believe that they can be called that and that it seems ridiculous. but then you told me that people accept and call them that.

also i did not feel you understood the full extent to my initial post but was also taken back by the idea that people say '90 pretzel 90s' that i no longer knew what to think.

Example of being sick without dancing?

Are you serious? The hippy killer looks like the most danciest trick out there and that is why I love it the most.

Yeah snowboards really are superior for jibbing, I'm tryna get on one in the park this year too.

tree jibs, presses, crazy ledges, doper binks

Snowboarding has progressed to a much cooler place in the urban arena skiiers are for the most part still on the finding a gnarly handrail and pretzeling it tip but not much else.

Doing filthy original shit on your skis is more impressive then learning snowboard tricks though so shit

You're correct, but there is more to a pretzel. Yes, a 2 on, opposite 2 out is a pretzel, but a pretzel does not need to include a 270 at all. You can hop on regular, fs switch up, fs switch up, to either forward or switch out. That is a pretzel because you changed your rotation AT LEAST 180 degrees. The best definition of a pretzel is "Spinning AT LEAST 180 degrees (this includes switch ups/270+), stopping your rotation, and then spinning AT LEAST 180 degrees in the opposite direction." The spinning in the opposite direction doesn't necessarily have to be off the feature. You could 2 on, blind switch up, then come out regular. That is a pretzel because you spun AT LEAST 180 with the 2 on, then you stopped your rotation and spun AT LEAST 180 back the opposite way (blind switch up).
Just use the definition I gave if you are confused if something is a pretzel.

sounds like you just need to up your creativity. I know what you are saying, cause I have felt the same way, but just when i start getting frustrated, I think, ok, I need to just chill out and put my thinking cap on for a second and really try to push the bounds of my creativity. Thats when I really start having fun.

i wanna se more urban that arent even rails. gaps/wallrides/taps etc.

in one of magoons edits he does this sick ledge thingy gap and lands on a propped up pallette against a dumpster. rigger shit.

I'm sorry but 'm going to have to disagree with you. for one, you can 50-50 (going straight) on a box or rail on skis, and then turn sideways. Which is basically what you were describing...And that leaves so many possibilities as well. You can even overcrook it after (skis pass perpendicular to the rail). Add to that all of Andy Perry and the Gagnier brother's shenanigans, mix in a bit of Perron and Hornbeck's nollie variations and the possibilities are endless.

i'm gonna get good enough to compete in the game on a board this year. give taras a little scare.

snowboarding looks dumb on rail imo, most boarders are not concerned about their arms!!! especially annoying are the tricks that literally "twist" their bodies so that they can get that 3 out... not as clean but each to his own

i just did the opposite of the thread writer

this year i will be skiing most of the time, not because snowboardings "played" or anything i just think i can have more fun and be more skilled on skis than on a board. i would even snowblade if i thought it'd be more fun. because thats what its really all about. you can't make a real living in this sport so theirs no real future in it, and its probably something you won't be able to do your whole life anyways so basically its all about having fun, it doesn't matter whats played. it does matter whats the most fun

im sorry but i really want to hate on this thread, ill try not to. seriously its your own fault for limiting yourself to switch ups and idolizing pretzels. theres so much shit i can think of wanting to try if i was good enough that i have never seen done. i dont understand why you cant try and push yourself to try inventing something you find cool instead of switching to snowboarding.

Finally! I 100% agree. I'm sick of people bitchign about what's played or about "what direction skiing is going." If you don't like the direction, GET GOOD and change it.

"i'm gonna get good enough to compete in the game on a board this year. give taras a little scare."

"i'm gonna get good enough to compete in the game on a board this year."

"i'm gonna get good enough to compete in the game"

"good enough to compete in the game"

"compete in the game"

"The Game"

crip walk on the rails. The future is subtly dancing on that shit with no pop. REFRESHment is coming, get over yourself.

i wanna see a snowboarder do a hippie killer, or one footed rail slides, or sciscorring then doing a pretzel 450 out. i wanna see a snowboarder kill rails like t-wall.

but most of all i wanna see snow :D

i only agree on boxes, when people through a bunch of spins on boxes, switch ups and whatever, its not hard, but on rails its a completely different story, especially single barreled

if you dont like skiing anymore you should quit and start boarding. skiing is what it is, most of us enjoy the way it is and have fun while we ski. i personally think all the presses and shit on a board look all the same, and are boring to me.

uh...not necessarily true. say on an urban, itd be harder to nosepress on a board than it would be to do a switchup on skis imo

alright. i think my post wat taken rong.

snowboarding is sick. i have many friends that snowboard and i film wiht them and its a blast.

BUT!! what i was saying is after freestyle skiing for a lil bit i dont htink i would ever want to switch to snowboarding. theres just a lot more options wiht freestyle skiing and even mor are coming out with new ski designs and such stuff as "rocker".

im not hateing on snowboarding but i just think that freestyle skiing is better

probs to that boarder in the video btw sick edit

Haha I thought the same thing. But whenever I get bummed on skiing I remember it's summer and watch the CASG and Surface edits on repeat and I get over it.
But seriously if you don't like the way rail skiing is (and jump skiing for that matter) make it different. If you have the ability buy a camera and go kick it with some friends and do something different. And remember like Blake Nyman said (at least I think it was him) Snowboarding is 3 years behind skateboarding and skiings 3 years behind snowboarding. we'll get there if people start doing their own thing.
