I can't believe Madrid might actually sell Di Maria, that being said if he goes to PSG, they could be serious CL competitors.

Heard Arsenal are leading the Khedira chase. Maybe Arsenal will finally get the defensive midfielder they want.

And United's giant ass kit deal 10yrs/$750 mil

NOOO. Don't let Khedira go Ancelotti! He will work so well with Kroos. Illiara is not ready either, nor is Casemiro.

If Khedira goes, I hope RM brings in Pogba or someone. If di Maria goes, Kroos can aptly fill that position. I would hold off on Rodriguez if I was Ancelotti as well. He is redundant with Isco and Kroos.

I've only seen so many Real Madrid games but never really liked Khedira or thought he was worth the hype until the world cup...he was all over the place and played so well every game he was in. It'd be a bonus to possibly lift Ozil's play as well with a former teammate/another german.

sounds like arsenal are set on kheidera, they are just hammering out the details of wages. ospina gona be signed for 3 million it looks like as well. i feel great about this summer so far. we have filled every void we had through the off season. pumped for august 16th!

Really? I have been reading and hearing that they are scared of his wages (150,000 a week) and that Chelsea has swooped in to try to steal him away.

Rumors (Read UNLIKELY) have it that Liverpool has asked about Reus from Dortmund. that would be a coupe

signing an incredibly injury prone player sounds like arsenal...

He is not incredibly injury prone. He actually would do quite well for Arsenal was well. He has had one major injury which he rebounded SPECTACULARLY from. I hope he doesn't leave Madrid. He is infinitely more reliable than Di Maria.

No Khedira #6

i think it's more kheidera holding up the final signing. from the sources i read it made it sound like real madrid agreed on the price but kheidera wanted more money. somewhere in the 200k a week range. arsenal were offering 23million i think. i dont care if he has had injuries in the past. he is in excellent from right now and would gel well and imo be happy as well with his other german nationals.

also man u is coming for vermalean and it sounds like arsenal want to do a sraight swap for another player rather than cash. smalling was the name that was being tossed around.

Yep. He had a great connection with Ozil at RM. They could work well together. Add Sanchez in and that is a VERY good 3 prong attack.

It sounds like the Juventus coach quit over transfer requests (Pogba or Vidal will be leaving.)

top 4 for me in order are

1. man city

2. chelsea

3. arsenal

4. man u

then everton liverpool and tottenham will be fighting for 5 and 6.

They are gonna put up a tougher fight than Tottenham did but I can see them losing CL play also.

I have to agree with this. I really liked Liverpool this last year and I want them to do well, but I'm thinking United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all going to be much better than last year. Shit, this is the most excited I've been about a pl season in the 12 years i've been following it...

Even though Liverpool lost Suarez and haven't made up for his absence in the transfer window, I think that they have enough young talent (coutinho, sterling, henderson, etc.) that will be hungry to prove themselves with Suarez gone and can pick up much of his slack. Should be an interesting season for liverpool at least, I really hope they can grind through the CL for a bit and make a round or two

I think the battle for the top 4 will be harder to predict than ever.

Arsenal is strengthening their side, Everton are underrated, Liverpool and Manchester United are impossible to predict, the only constants here are Man City and Chelsea. But where anyone falls is a crapshoot. Hell, if Diego Costa is a flop like I can see him being, Chelsea may not even make the top 4, they can't score!

Any idea who it is? Haven't heard anything except Bojan perhaps going to Stoke, who, though only 23, has already been around forever.

They still have plenty of time to do so, though. After all, it's only the middle of July. I think it's too early to count Liverpool in or out, have to see what they do with the Suarez money before making any predictions.

I think it is Bojan. Poor kid has had a rough few years after a promising start for Barcelona. Would be a great signing for Stoke if you ask me though.

Liverpool does have a lot of time, but it must be frustrating and worrisome to see Man U, Man City, Chelsea, and even Arsenal make some BIG name signings. When Wenger makes a big signing and you don't, it must be annoying.

For sure. Still a very good player, I always wished he'd gotten more of a chance at Barca. I've never seen a striker as intelligent as he was at such a young age. Even at 17/18 his movement off the ball was fantastic.

True, but all they really need is to sign a big name or semi-big name striker to help somewhat fill Suarez's shoes. Obviously they can't get someone to entirely replace Suarez, but as long as they get close I think they'll be all right. And now that Arsenal have finished paying off the Emirates and have their new Puma deal, I think the days where they don't spend much in the transfer market are over. Wenger is finally being given permission again to make big signings.

Kroos is more or less a done deal. I wish Khedira would stay to make that an awesome triangle.

It looks like Madrid may have the following line up next year

------------------Benzema-----------------------

Ronaldo-----Isco/Kroos--------------Bale---

----------Alonso-----------Modric---------------

Coentrao---Varane---Ramos----Carvajal

----------------K. Navas----------------

Obviously Ronaldo and Bale will be more attacking than Isco/Kroos.

Illara

Casemiro

Jese (inj)

Marcelo

Pepe

Arbeloa

Casillas/Lopez (one will leave)

Most people will agree that the English Premier League is the most competitive and therefore the best to watch, but whatever you can find on TV will probably be good. MLS is probably the worst league on TV and it's still reasonably entertaining. I personally have started to watch Ligue 1 since we have BEIN Sport, which broadcasts a couple games every weekend. Still though I watch the EPL far more than any other league.

Not official yet.

IMO, I don't want to give up Isco to get Rodriguez and thats what it sounds like will happen. Isco breaks down the teams where the trio of Benzema, Ronaldo, and Bale cannot. He is a tight space player, a la Xavi or Iniesta.

For the big leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy), yes, it is the most competitive. But you can find other leagues that are far more competitive than the epl is. MLS is just one example; overall, a much more competitive league than the epl is.

It's all a matter of how much quality of play you are willing to sacrifice for competitiveness.

Doesnt have the best team though ;-).

I do prefer watching the EPL though over La Liga unless Madrid is playing. I enjoy EPL because any team on any day can win, which is not always the case in other leagues. And it is on TV more often.

On another note, it looks like Khedira to Arsenal is falling apart. His wages are too high.

Ha. Truth. Best teams, I think you mean.

Personally I still prefer La Liga because, in my opinion, the quality of play is higher across the board (though this could also just be a stylistic preference, depending on how you look at it) than it is in the epl. It's much more likely for me to turn on a random la liga game and enjoy it than it is for me to turn on a random epl game and enjoy it. Unless one of the bigger teams are involved in an epl game, chances are I'll get bored with the game, while the same isn't true with la liga. It is tempting to become more of an epl fan though just because the language is the same as here in the states and it's much more commercialized and better promoted, and basically just across the board easier to follow in the states than any other league in Europe.

I saw that:( that would have been a huge signing.

On another note has anyone ever used nikes return policy on cleats? How lenient are they?

Ozil needs to convince Khedira not to be so damn greedy. Looks like Remy to Liverpool is nearing closure. Arsenal should know how good he is...I keep saying that they should sign him but it never happens. He is no Suarez but he'll certainly be a positive for them.

liverpool need to invest in some defensive players. Henderson and gerrard are shit at CDM and the back four are shaky. Idk why they keep investing in forward players when goals have never been the problem.

They signed Emre Can. Their defense is not horrible, it is just young. Besides, they do have problems scoring now that Suarez left.

I think Khedira will either remain at RM or go to Arsenal, CFC is out of the question as they have a plethora of midfielders already, and he will want playing time.

Some big news from this morning.

James Rodriguez seems all bet set to head to Madrid. Now, the more intriguing question remains, who leaves? Khedira? Di Maria? Isco?

https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/liga-monaco-real-agree-terms-james-071254715--sow.html

Even more shocking is that Torres could return to Atletico Madrid. Selling him for $13m when you bought him for $50m is quite the loss on investment and even worse considering how many goals he scored.

https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/liga-chelsea-atletico-hold-talks-torres-return-074416798--sow.html

For all you Man U fans, there are rumors floating that Mat Hummels of BVB and German fame may be dressed in red soon. If that happens, color me shocked. He has interest from Barcelon and is a true BVB boy at heart, much like Reus.

I can't figure out what the fuck Real is going to do with all that talent I'm the center of midfield.

If they can get that much for Torres they should be happy at this point.

Curious to see if Pogba and/or Vidal move after the coach quit over transfer shit.

I imagine that sometimes that front 4 may float around when Benzema is put on the bench, much like what happened when Jese was subbed in for him.

In the midfield, I anticipate Kroos starting on the bench, but as the season progresses, earning starts over Alonso and Modric depending on the game. Illara was supposed to take over for the 32 year old Alonso, but he seems to have been a bust for $30m. IMO he should be loaned out to an EPL team for a season or half a season because he is still 24.

I think Isco will struggle to see starts, but will often come on when a little bit of skill is needed rather than pace. You also may be able to play without a pure striker, and have him sit behind James much like what Germany did with Gotze and Muller.

stoke making some promising off season moves, just need to get that barcelona striker now to really patch up their shitty offense. crouch is 33 now and is slow as dirt, cant rely on him anymore

they probably will not. They will most likely play some of the fringe players who are trying to get into the first team like jovetic, rodwell and some of the new signings like sagna.
