English Premier League 2014-2015

I have a gut feeling Toure will be playing else where next season. His relationship with MCFC seems to have soured quickly.

Herra to Manchester United. He has had a good WC so far, lets see if he can replicate it in the EPL.

beIN recants their earlier statement. Maybe RM are not out of the race to try to sign Suarez. Even as an RM fan, I do not want him. I think he should stay at Liverpool for at least another season or two.

If you want to know who RM is after just keep an eye on Marca, they basically use the paper to tap guys up, it'll probably go into full swing soon with Spain being out of the WC.

I look at Marca sometimes, but I prefer a variety of sources before I take something as probable.

I wonder if Liverpool keeps Suarez now. If I was FIFA I would ban him 10+ games, and hope to god UEFA and FA followed suit.

So it looks like debuchy to arsenal for 8 mill. Just completed the medical. Also they look pretty keen on Alexi Sanchez. If they add a defensive mid and a striker we would definitely be one of the favorites. Don't really think we need Sanchez even though he is pure class. Got to make some room in the mid for him somewhere.

Debuchy is a good signing! I agree with you on needing a CDM, ST of course, and not really having a reason to sign Sanchez besides the fact that when he is on form, he is world class. I guess Arsene knows though...he'll find a spot for him somewhere.

Fuck you, it's called soccer.

They have been owned by Americans for over 10 years now. This comes as no suprise.

You could play Sanchez as a striker-like player. He is good enough.

They have a knack for taking on companies that almost go bankrupt, first AIG now GM.

I think a player like mandzukic is what arsene is looking for. idk how well sanchez would fit as a lone striker, not really big enough. i do agree that he could play somewhat that role but they would have to change the formation a bit as well.

Yeah, but having the Chevy logo on the front of their uniforms is about as close as you can get to being team USA without putting old glory on the shoulder and blasting Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" as they walk on to the field prior to kicking off the soccer game.

Who's colonizing who now bitches?

I've been trying to get into soccer (yeah yeah I'm American) for the longest time, but I've always wanted to pick a team and follow them from the START of a season. Has the season started already? When does it start? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to it , but I am genuinely interested.

The premier league is easier than ever to follow with NBC Sports showing every game, every week either on tv or online. It starts the 16th of August.

Don't pick a team right off the bat. Just start watching as many games as possible and you will pick a side pretty unconsciously after a few games. From there you're hooked.

Diego costa good or bad move? Imo better than torres but who isn't. Also liverpool are pretty fucked over by suarez.

1. Unsure. Is it the Diego Costa of Atletico or of Spain? If it is the latter, it is horrible. if it is the first, good, not great deal.

2. Nothing has happened on the Suarez front officially, but it sounds like they will receive 60 million pounds and Sanchez OR 90+ million pounds. Not too bad. Granted he is a great striker, but Liverpool is getting some good talent as is so far. Hopefully Sturridge and Sterling can pick up the slack with the new signings.

You were right. I hadn't followed up on that lead prior to posting. My mistake.

Still, a 75+ million pound/Euro transfer for a player you paid 25 million for isnt too bad. Unfortunately for liverpool fans there are big clubs, and there are super clubs and the super clubs get what they want.

They are gonna end up like Tottenham ended up this year. They were so close two years ago to getting CL play with Bale but their Bale money never transferred over to the same success. I see a big battle for Liverpool to stay in the top 4.

...although I would love to be proven wrong and watch Man United suffer a second season in a row lol.

Eh, they succeeded without Suarez when he was banded at the start of this year as well. I don't think strikers were their biggest issue, I think it was their defense/defensive midfield play. Besides, Rodgers is a better coach than any Tottenham one.

This so much. I am no Liverpool fan but I would trust Liverpool to do a better job reinvesting that money than I would Tottenham by a long shot.

Hard to say. Seems like it should be an alright move, but again Chelsea are paying big money for a striker who is an unproven goal scorer in the epl. Still makes no sense to me as to why they aren't giving Lukaku a chance. The guy showed last year he can score in the prem, and he doesn't cost Chelsea tens of millions.

Guess we'll see if RM ever pays up their fucking debts huh?

It won't be with Morata that is for sure. He wants nothing to do with the Spurs.

IMO the Spurs are the EPL's version of the Knicks. Constant roster and coaching changes but somehow still attract decent players but reward them with horrendous contracts.

Arsenals new Puma kits look good. Hopefully they're not fitted as tight as they were in the WC. Bet Sanchez is hyped on Puma sponsoring their kit.

I dig all the kits too! I'm sure he'll use Puma to order some extra small shorts on his behalf. Stoked on his signing...still not sure where he'll play buuut thats not much of a problem now is it?

If Suarez had defecated on the Anfield turf, someone somewhere would have prepared a 1,500-word essay on how he was misunderstood - no doubt arguing how he was practising a quaint, ancient South American tradition of fertilisation.

Huh? What does your comment have to do with that article?

The first and last bullet in this are the most important of this article.

Is Barcelona moving beyond their homegrown talent? Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes, and possibly Pedro are all either gone or on their way out. In are the likes of Neymar, Suarez, Raktic, and Ter Stegen. What happens to the so called elite of the Barcelona youth academy? Will Deulofeu, Tello, Afellay, or Barta get a chance? Interesting times for Barcelona. Whose head will fall if they do not succeed?

And how will Liverpool cope with the loss? That is the big thing in the EPL. Can they maintain the same potency going forward?

All I know is that the next El Clasico will be absurd.

I haven't heard anything about Iniesta or Pedro being moved and would be surprised if they are. Especially Iniesta. I think Deuolofeu, Bartra, and Montoya will have much bigger roles, and I believe Tello is being sent out on loan this year.

As a Barca fan, it's sad to see Puyol, Xavi, and Valdes go, obviously, but it's also exciting. Honestly, it feels similar to the first summer that Guardiola was in charge when he got rid of Ronaldinho, Deco, and the team actually felt like it was going to be something new that we hadn't seen before. With Vilanova and Martino it just felt like more of the same. Not saying there will be the same level of success, but there is a similar level of excitement and anticipation, I think.

I have heard rumors about possibly Pedro, Barta, or Montoya being moved especially after the Neymar fiasco, Suarez and Rakitic deals. They need money to help finance these moves. Suarez, Rakitic, C. Bravo and Ter Stegen all cost upwards of 10 million euros a piece. Ter Stegen was 12, Rakitic was around 18, Bravo was around 10ish and Suarez is more than 75. They have two transfers going out, Sanchez and Cesc. Realistically, they gained between 50-60 million euros for those two. I can't imagine more pieces will not leave, be it on loan or full sale.

It will be interesting to see how Barcelona copes. I feel like they still need to address alternatives to Dani Alves and other options for CB. Midfield wise, I think they are a little thin with Rakitic, Iniesta, and Busquets seeing as Song is most likely leaving and Mascherano being slotted in as a CB due to these deficiencies.

Madrid on the other hand has not done much in the transfer window officially. It looks like Khedira is being linked with a move away, while Kroos could come in.

I just want Los Blancos to get another striker.

Huh. I think they'll let Song leave and give Sergi Roberto and Rafinha more of a chance in midfield. I hope they keep Montoya and Bartra. Last thing they need is to get rid of more defenders. Seems more likely to me that Dani Alves leaves than Montoya. They'll also probably officially sell Affelay and Bojan, which will bring in some money, though not much. But who knows, I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens.

Chelsea's new 17 year old from Barcelona doesn't speak english very well and started retweeting people on twitter "congratulating him" on the deal lol.

I can't believe Madrid might actually sell Di Maria, that being said if he goes to PSG, they could be serious CL competitors.

Heard Arsenal are leading the Khedira chase. Maybe Arsenal will finally get the defensive midfielder they want.

And United's giant ass kit deal 10yrs/$750 mil

I really hope we can sign kheidera. That would be huge IMO. Arteta us great but is on the downward slope if his career and kheidera is a better fit IMO.
