England and skiing

so I know that london is not the greatest place for skiing, but my parents might go there in august and they said I could tag along with them. I figured that I would bring my skis along for a day or two of skiing, and was wondering what the best places were dry or indoor.

PS, I didnt check for repost.

How far are you looking to travel? what days will you be there? I know there's definitely indoor ski slopes with parks out some days(down in glasgow it's thursday and friday night) not sure if it's the same in all of them, never actually had a chance to go to the freestyle nights but they look pretty sweet.

There's definitely a decent indoor dryslope in england somewhere, can't remember the exact name of it, not very well advertised, but it's got an awesome park out it seems permanently.

Check out xscape, it's not the cheapest, think it might be 50$ for 4 hours or something, so IMO it's only really worth it regularly. Although on the plus side you can rent skis for free(make sure to call up in advance and find out, as I'm not sure it's definitely the case in england too)

Not necessarily, a lot of good people at the fridges that can do well on both jumps and rails.

However if you're good at SKIING you'll be better than everyone there

defiantly come man, near London 2 main indoors, milton keynes and hemel, can get trains to both, hemel is friday night for there main park and thursday for the half park other way round for mk, give me a shout out if your coming

If you're going to london and dont want to travel far out of town I would recommend a trip to the Hemel-Hempstead snow centre (http://www.thesnowcentre.com/freestyle/) they have a park every thursday and friday. its only a 160m slope but they build a reasonable park for the such small size of slope. there is usually about 8 features and a jump.

As already stated Milton Keynes and Hemel Hempstead would be your best bet and are closest to London. Both accessible by train fairly easily. Milton Keynes has a full park out on Thursday and Friday and possibly Saturday depending on what dates your are coming and Hemel has a smaller "progression" park on Thursday and a full park out on Friday. Both places are roughly the same price, and offer 10% if you book in advance!

The jumps will be small due to weight restrictions on the slopes so don't expect anything groud breaking. But to combat that the set ups are usually pretty creative and fun.

Let us know when your coming over man

in all honesty, it's probably not worth the trouble of bringing your ski equipment just for a day or two of indoor or dryslope skiing. there are so many other things to do while you're there. and if you really want to ski it'd probably be cheaper to rent skis than what it would cost in airline fees to bring a pair.

I'm not trying to start another argument with you, but why do you consistently write useless, stupid shit in threads? You must be fucking bored out of your mind or something.

Not positive but I think there's an indoor place in Manchester, if you're interested in travelling several hours. It would be a unique experience, but Idk if it would be worth while.

at glasgow it certainly isn't. Ellis brigham lets you rent for free, sure the bindings are shitty, but they had a bunch of next years skis when I went, instead of 5 year old ones. They may not excel, but they're more than adequate. Unless it's different in england

Again not necessarily, there are a lot who have spent large chunks of their lives riding real mountains and only ride the fridges cos there's not much else in summer ... but yeah agreed a lot of kids who probably couldn't ski moguls to save their lives as well

can demo skis yes, but not boots and if riding freestyle in the evening the shop closes so only have slope rentals which are brutal. however hemel has got a few set of head twin tips

in mid august, and my mom works for delta so I dont have to worry about monetary travel expenses, and those two indoor places look cool, if i do go ill probably go to there.
