End of Voleurz!

This is sad.

But to everyone quoting the kid above, he's right. Nobody's heard of Voleurz outside the very small, and very tight-knit (so punny) ski/snowboard industry. It's time for some of you to open yours eyes and see how small our piece of the pie really is.

well they are marketing to the ski industry arent they? Ski manufacturers don't make sales out of the "very small, and very tight-knit" ski industry either.

What I want to know is, who is Rob Heule going to film with now? Does this at all affect PYP, since the voleurz and pyp movies have shots from all the same trips, riders, etc? (ie. what is the relationship between the two companies?)

What a bummer. The intro to Always Look On The Bright Side will always hold a special place in my heart.

GOD DAMN IT

Kill Your Boredom, Thats Fine, and Look on the Brightside were some of my favorite free ski films every year

Wonder what the KIDS are going to be coming out with now...

You stated it as if thats the reason that they failed, but obviously brands such as k2, atomic, salamon, etc etc etc have made it pretty far in "just" the ski industry.

Well first of all the companies you've listed are hardly comparable examples. And the fact that you mentioned atomic and salomon as separate entities in the ski industry is enough for me to end the discussion here.

I'll humour you a little longer and say that yes, the size of the industry is at least partly why Voleurz is no more. But my original point was just that the brand is/was not nearly as widely known as people seem to believe.

RIP Voleurz. You guys had the best crew and made the sickest free movies. you will be missed

as much as I love voleurz, some people have made some valid points here. calling them a company nobody has heard of is pretty false and just kind of dumb. however, people touched on their content being released as free and how awesome it is. yes, it is awesome, but at the same time they aren't doing fall movie premiere tours like level 1, pbp, matchstick, tgr, or charging money for dvd's, itunes downloads, etc and as such, their business model will always be inherently lower for what they stand to ultimately make as a production company. in freeskiing it should never be about the money, however, you still need to get by somehow year in and year out and i just think in the end the sustainability of that model caught up with them. they will be missed.

oh, another ignorant noob that no one has heard of being a dipshit....shocker.

this is bad news bears. does anyone know why they're shutting down?

Quoted from the article:

"This decision did not come lightly, but after months of internal discussion and evaluation, we’ve come to the conclusion that moving forward with the brand has become unsustainable, so we’ve made the collective decision to begin exploring other opportunities. "

oh I should learn to read. but I guess that's what happens when you sell thin hoodies for $100 and produce movies for free.
