End of the world is soon

but that point brings the whole consciousness of the thread down to a just-make-up-facts-to-make-a-point style of discussion that Republicans made famous.
 
no one knows what nostridaumus means in all of his predictions till they happen and just imagine on how many times he was wrong... and i heard lots of people say that earth was "supposed" to get hit by a meteor... here we are in 2005.. and i also heard off teh descovery channel that a meteor is supposed to hit the earth in 2006.. well let me guess we will end up seeing the day of 2007 becasue many of peoples predictions suck... and the world will never end untill the sunblows up.. and that has another good 100,000,000 years to go.. weither we will still be here is another story.. and supposedtively for the past 50 years there was supposed to be a massive earthquake that takesd out vancouver vrom the island crust breaking off, and creating a massive tital wave to destroy vancouver... but i dont see that happening for another 200 years.
 
i cant wait 7 fucking years...its either now or never dammit cuz i think in like 4 or 5 years i can finally get what i want but right now i wouldnt mind
 
what you guys aren't getting is the 2012 has nothing to do with the bible or nostradamus. it is also not a prediction as the white man likes to put it, its a date when the center of our solar system's plane (1 solar system out of billions in our galaxy) will be in the EXACT center of the Milky Way's plane. It is the passing from 1 cycle to the next, the 6th cycle of our Solar System. Time will be different as will many other things. Our system will be changed into a different pattern. So the Mayans say (the most advanced civilization when it came to the study of Time and Space) and our science has proved them correct, over a millenia later.
 
Should be fun! That'll be one to actually think about, since it does come from a really reliable source, so at least some sort of event should come out of it.

i bet the world ends when they make an episode when the wiley cyotie catches that roadrunner... time has already come for the rabbit... now its just to wait for the roadrunners turn

shut the fuck up kid, learn some history before you type bullshit to just sound cool. the mayans were killed off by the white man, by force, with disease and overall, by his neverending greed for everything.
 
hahahahhaha, that made my night. there are multitudes of limiting factors that control populations, and only recently (on the geologic scale) have humans become advanced enough to thwart most of the natural controls. Think about any population of animals that doesn't have much contact with humans; over the long run, their population is fairly steady.

sure there are population surges, but then predator populations increase, there is a food shortage, or disease etc causes a die off and the population returns to a sustainable level. Lemmings actually release chemicals into their own bloodstream when they become overpopulated, and much of the population dies. this is why you often hear of huge amounts of lemmings running off of cliffs.
 
You're pretty cocky for not being completely accurate. The Mayan actually began to decline around the ninth century. They were a weak shadow of their former selves when the Spanish arrived. Particularly when the Aztecs dominated central America.
