End of season my ass

dedicating my 1000th post to:

you know someone skis out west when...

my hill (manning) closed on april 2nd, and it was snowing, park was perfect, although i hardly touched it all year due to the ammount of powder we got. we had about a 300cm base. it's still snowing. it's april 16th. wtf. by now there's gotta be 350-375cms of snow up there, the snow line is wayyyyyy down, and it's closed due to insurance reasons (which is, i assume, why your mountain (mt washington right?) is closing too). fuck insurance, i want to go skiing. hopefully i get to go to whistler next weekend. unfortunately i don't have a car of my own, so i have to borrow my parents' (not bloody likely) or get my dad to drive (not bloody likely either). what a strange couple of years.

the end.

we hiked it preseason,it was fun. but now it's time to trek over to whistler. we're planning on hiking the park after we close....but today every lip was covered wtih the 60* new, I think io said 40 before. well there's always time to carve out a new lip or two, anybody wanna come sess?

oh it's definately poaching. hiking would be when it's available. it's actually closed and off limits, just like jumps are to the tourists that poach your inrun or landing.

no it's not closed and off limits, it's technically a nature reserve for the worlds most endangered mammal, the vancouver island marmot!

yeah i plan to go hike my local mountain...mount seymour... cause its fucking closing tomorrow with a 550cm base because of those god damn insurance reasons... if i went into their parks would they kick me out... but yeah end of season... wtf man.. we got to hold like a skiers strike to lengthen the season

i just hiked stratton 2 out of the last 3 days, it was hard to hike but it was fucking sick. no one else was there

You are correct. Some mountains can only be open for a certain time out of the year because they are on park land.

haha i read about that... But man go hiking or get a snowmobile. U got the whole mountain to urself and fresh pow!!
