What is the music industry comeing to. These two genres have been battling it out forever and its getting kind of old. One of the punks at my school came up to me and said ' Ieat Emo Kids' I just said good for you and walked away. I think this arguement has to stop. Emo kids listen to their music and punks listen to theirs so there really is no arguement when you bring it down.

yes, agreed. it's the stupid kids at your school. why do you care so much? listen to what you like and fuck everyone who says, 'it sucks'. be the mature one. keep doing your own thing. you'll probably never see these kids again after high school anyway (i'm assuming you're in high school) so who cares about their opinion.

yeah, by calling yourself an emo kid, and by your name being emo_rocker you're associating yourself with a movement that EVEN THE BANDS DON'T WANT TO BE A PART OF. thursday has repeatedly denied being emo. coheed and cambria say that they are post-punk or prog-rock, but not emo. the get up kids have hated being called emo since the beginning of their career. saves the day does not like to be categorized as emo. so IF THERE ARE NO EMO BANDS, HOW IS THERE EMO MUSIC? answer: there isn't. there's just music, and then there's a bunch of sheepish little kids who want to bring it down by pigeonholing it into a category so that they'll have something to follow. don't be a follower. listen to what you love, and let that be the end of it.

ur right. half those bands mentioned ARENT emo. Its the stupid trendy kids that drag their own bands into the mix. Get a freakin identity that no one else has and stop shitting on mine.

yep..the old emo and post hardcore are basically the same.. songs start out soft and end up with the lead vocalist screaming.. not really the greatest music to listen to but thats where it all came from.
