Emo music

most people don't know what it is. they just call all poppy bands and scene bands emo because they can't think of anything better
 
emo is way too broad of a term...there are so many sub-genres and it's so hard to classify bands. also, "emo" is kind of obsolete.
 
brand new is one of my favorite bands. i think they're emo. alexisonfire are another of my favorite bands although they often get called it i think they are far from emo, it's annoying when that happens, especially when it's pop punk bands.
 
emo is so incredibly weak. that shit isn't even music, its ooooooo an intro 2 maybe 3 verses 2 choruses a bridge and then a outro/chorus wooofuckinghoooo takes no skill to play that shit.
 
The only music I've heard that has been called 'emo' by some people is Anthony Boronowski's song in War (which i didn't like) and the band Stars, neither of which make me in the least bit sad listening to them.

haha welcome to the internet... i once tried to defend emo, bad idea. it important to remember that there is a difference between what is perceived as emo and real emo, as well as the fact that most people who post shit dont actually know what they are talking about. also is your name a reference to scary kids scaring kids, because if it is thats awesome. i love that band.
 
emo music is whiney, when im riding down a mountain i dont like people whining to me. its chill if you like it though
 
eliot is great not emo, emotional and confessional but dont drag him into em, its not fair. its too broad music is music some sucks some is good let whoever likes it like it.
 
I hate to tell you this

but im pretty sure thats what a good amount of music is like

Late 80's punk and what not, they have short songs, not much people listen to it these days(besides the Misfit "listeners"), but i love it

Again, some Indie bands have short songs(tokyo police club) its all awesome

I might of made a weak statement

but no one should hate music

expect country, it just sucks that much folks
