i recently got into emo music, particularly from the 90s. some great shit especially on from the guitars.

some good bands:

- capn jazz

- mineral

- sunny day real-estate

- rites of spring

- braid

King for a day is still on my running playlist

Don't know if it's emo or not but I think it is

enjoy this piece of wonderful emo garbage. The only reason I liked this song is because it was Shawn Sullivan’s music from ski movie 3 and that was a sick edit.

Bode Merril has posted a few small edits to Sunny Day real estate. I always thought 7 would go hard af in a street edit.

Also yes I like various variety of emo shit. From more hardcore to pop punk and a bunch in between.

Listening to a bunch of stuff like Silverstein, Yellowcard, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, NFG, Neck Deep and stuff like that recently. Prolly listening ro more the last few years then when those bands were relevant.

Was listening to Lifetime earlier, it's good.

Also honorable mention to Embrace though I'm sure if you are into Rites of Spring you're aware of them already.

I mostly listen to hardcore, metalcore, post-hardcore as far as "scene" music goes but emo is also good and sometimes the distinctions are very subtle.

I love Paramore and FOB but I never considered myself an emo fan until very recently when the existence of emo techno blindsided me lmao. Skrillex, Cloud_, Seven Lions, Driftcat, etc. all make what is essentially audio crack

Hot take: fifth wave emo is the best period of emo music by a huge margin

Fuck nouns tho

This sounds more like a punk rock genre. You're not real emo

Crazy that diary is almost 30 years old now. It was 10 years old when I first listened to Sunny day real estate. I still throw it on once in a great while
