i dont think eminem is new to depression. i think hes been depressed for a long time.
btw he probably is one of the greatest rappers of all time. first off hes white. second when one of his songs comes on it makes you pay attention. not because of some catchy beat, cuz of his lyrics. third he can rap about anything. his new shit doesnt suck its just different topics. different times in his life. eminem showed rappers you can rap about killing your bitch girlfriend, getting aids, raping bitches, suicide etc etc.... then he often plays multiple roles him and someone else....not many people can pull that off.

That track off of Soundbombing II, "Any Man", was just on another level. I didn't really like much of anything off of that independent release...what's it called? Infinite? But damn..."I Just Don't Give a Fuck", shit he did with Royce, and on and on were absolute flames.

But when you compare him (skill wise) to the general rap-comunity you hear on the radio, he actually has some legit skill on the mic. So, my conclusion is that he is alright. To put in NS's music choice terms, he is better than lil wayne but no biggie.

wow what a coincidence; i was just thinking the same thing earlier today and i hadn't seen this thread. i heard him on the radio, and i was like oh shit back in the day i would listen to him, so i went and found all this eminem stuff and i was once again amazed. he's the greatest rapper; he has the most intense meaningful songs, each with it's on voice and personality, witty rhymes, good beats, superb lyrics. it's crazy that each thing he does has it's own mood and tends to tell a story; it's like he's a whole new person in each song, but all these characters wrapped into one. oh but he's fucked up for sure, as far as his life and a lot of the themes he's rapped about.

None of eminems new shit is gay, and the word "gay" doesnt really fit the proper explination. Yeah crack a bottle and all those other songs that are featuring like 6 different artists arent so good, but he has already said he makes those songs just to show that he can sell it. Its all for the publicity, if you think any of his shit is "gay" then you obviously dont listen to emienem that much or know his music at all. 4 years later and slims still going to go platinum the first week his album drops.

personally i think his new stuff pretty much sucks. Encore and relapse have like mabye 2 good songs on them each. and its not because i don't listen to eminem that much, i accually have been bumpin infinte in my cd for the past 2 weeks straight. Pretty much when eminem started using that gay ass acent and "IN DA CLUB" beats, his music droped bigtime. if you listen to relapes, he really has no flow throughout the album.
