so i feel bad for ns member life@reno who got flamed in the SG thread "LOL at the kid in my shop" for having a picture of himself as a gaper in his profile
now none of us started this sport as fashionistas taking pictures of ourselves in our 6xl tall tees and $100 jiberish hoodies in mid summer, or even caring about how high our steeze factor was at all. perhaps some did, but that is because they started the sport late, and not in their childhood.lets take some of the humiliation and finger pointing off of life@reno and EMEMBRACE YOUR GAPER!!!!!!!1!

I feel like this thread is implying that being a gaper has everything to do with your clothes, and not your skill/knowledge of skiing.
 
I actually like this idea. Kind of fun to see how people transform. Not embarrassing either, it's not like I didn't have sufficient ability/knowledge in the sport. So here's several years back.

realllyyy? why does everything have to be considered contraversial, i mean kids get made fun of all the time for dressing as a gaper, and you stereotype a kid as a gaper when they look like this.

Don't forget that a couple of tall tees doesn't make you a good skier, their are plenty of people on this site who are still gapers.
 
Man, I miss being a gaper. Skiing was so much fun and I couldn't care less about how I looked.

totally agree with you bro! it was soo much better when i didnt care what i looked like or if i cased a jump exct.
 
i'm surprised that so many kids on ns didn't start skiing until they were older, like 12 or 13. maybe its just me but around here everyone I know started when they were 4 or 5.
 
yall are newbs,being newbs.

a gaper buys sick gear and doesnt know what its for, they buy lift tickets at full price, for their whole family for an entire week. they buy lunch in the lodge at the top of the mountain. because of gapers we can afford to freeski, be scummy, bag lunches, poach the lift and fuck their daughters/wives...so yeah, thankagaper.
 
Get over yourself. If you would have read the thread, you would have noticed that this issue was already addressed within the first few posts. Thus, automatically rendering you the newb in this case.

my name justifies the fact that i thought of thanking a gaper. the fact that we owe them.

i have never cared what people think,especially if you consider lil ns kids people.

 
you bastard ns children! i just re-read the thread, and their was no comment on the correct definition of gaper. so now im pissed.

your father who brings you to the mountain is the gaper, he brings his newb son and his wife goes shopping until i meet her at happy hour and give her that pounding shes been waiting her whole life for.
 
I think that we should show a picture of a gaper pic of ourselves, and a new picture. Just to make sure the piture you post wasn't recent.
 
i wish i could go back to 15th august 2001, dont ask me why i know the date but it was the first time i skied and was hooked as soon as i arrived in the carpark
