Anyone live there? I might get transferred there for work and was wondering what ski hills are close and what it was like?
 
haha have you been to elko before? There is one resort with a 700 foot vertical rise that has like 1 rope tow and a lift. They also have heli skiing in the Ruby Mountain Range which i heard is pretty fun just not very cheap. Overall Elko sucks unless you are into hunting and living with a bunch of small town redneck folk.
 
Elko looks dope. Buy a sled and get into the Ruby Mountains. Those mountains are incredible. Do a little google earthing and you'll see the terrain in the Rubies is just as gnarly as the Wasatch, and most years they get hammered! So, you're willing to tour or sled, it could be awesome.
