^ Im pretty small, 5'3 100 lbs. i guess im a pretty good skier. i can ski pretty much anywhere at my mountain (snowbird).

no way. if u like them and you are used to skiiing bigger skis/want bigger skis. go for it. nomensteven has been preching about these skis to me for that last 6 months. get them and tell me if i should of got them.lol

snowbirds the shit dude i go everyyear...know where any sick cliffs are? i only found some little 10 footers and shit

i have some 06 vcts. would those be okay? they seem pretty soft to me. how much they going for anyway

Well,

I rode the Elizabeth earlier in the season and I thought it was alright. It is

really soft and its pretty fun to play with but got rid of it when my season

ended with injury. Towards the end of the season I decided and got a pair of Karhu PFD,

which is same thing as elizabeth but with a little beefier core, so its not

rediculously soft. Coming from riding the elizabeth, I like the PFD lot more

because it held its edge lot better and it was more responsive and carve up

like a bitch and kill it in the park. I rode it out at Mammoth for about 3 days,

and I'm looking to sell it because I got a different pair of skis, let me know if your interested. I think you will be lot happier than Elizabeths because it'll handle

every condition better than the elizabeths.

is it really that soft. i figured since im on the lighter side it would be a bit stiffer

H'okay, so I just talked to josh about this at jibij. Lizzies are soft and wide, and are excellent in the fresh powder, trees, and backcountry jumps. However since they are soft they dont hold up as well in crud and such, and therefore the same goes at high speeds. Although one dude on their team (mike i think) skis them all the time, even in the park. I am pretty sure they are ok in the park, but not as good as chronics or the blends. The prophets are stiffer and better in choppier snow but not quit as quick in the trees, but they are awsome in the powder (100s that is). So it depends on what you want them for. Untracked powder lizzies are probably the best bet. Other than that, I would go for some prophet 100s, or if you want to do park a little more, some of the chronic blends, or if mostly park, the chronics (although up till now I have used chronics all over in powder trees moguls and they are nice). Now of course this is just for line skis. But I like line.

yeah if i were you i would get elizabeths, 172 would be like normal pow ski length for someone your size i think. i have talked to people about them and everyone says its the funnest skis they have ever ridden, how you can carve like a snowboard, and pop out of pow like its nothing. so i got some this year. i am 5ft 9 140lbs so i dont weigh much either. just look at pollards video on the HH site, he does so much cool stuff and switch landings, and that switch 180, to butter 180 or something in powder and that woldnt be possible with any other ski, or atleast not that well. although pollard uses bacons, but he is also taller and heavier than me so what bacons are to pollard is what lizzies are to me.

and if your worried about them being soft, you weigh 100lbs so its definatly not gonna be a big deal.

^ yeah i noticed that too, but they really do have the exact same dimensions as the elizabeths

Yeah exact dimension and how the other guy mentioned about how elizabeth doesn't handle well in crud and etc and high speed...Yeah these takes care of all that elizabeth can't handle.

^ the only way an elizabeth can't handle crud and crap is if YOU can't handle crud and crap. These skis will handle anything from park to pow. Including groomes and crud. Maybe not ice.. but tell me one fat ski that does? And who wants to ski ice anyways...

Get the lizzes. Screw some tele ski if you're an alpiner.

If you ski Snowbird do not get these skis, you'll hate them. No way a ski that shape is going to be any fun on days it doesn't snow at that mountain. Imagine trying to take a bump run on them, imagine chopped crud. They're going to bounce all over the place. Sure the flex is probably fine for your weight, but having that much sidecut at snowbird is not going to be fun for an everyday ski. Steep traverses are going to be a pain with the big tip flopping around. Stick to the straighter fatties, BC's, gun's, etc. I'm not sure what they make in your size, but the elizabeth is not an all mountain ski, particularly when you call snowbird home.

^ABSOLUTELY NOT. Has he even skied Lizzes? I doubt it. The way he refers to their 'dimension' sounds like he doesn't know what hes talking about.

I've skied snowbird a few times.. lizzes are gonna be sick for you.

All I heard is that they dont do as well in crud, and if you were gonna be skiing is crud to go more with prophets. Cuz prophets still kick arse in powder.

i would get some fat but good all mountain skis if you ski at snowbird, cuz snowbird has its extremley good days and just good days haha. but i would go for something a little more desiged for all mountain strenght.

You're right, I haven't skied them, have you? But I have skied snowbird, all of it. A ski with a fat soft tip and a huge amount of sidecut is going to suck in crud. 90% of snowbird is crud, 90% of the time. That's what happens when you average over 500 inches of snow at one of the mountains that gets skied out the faster than anywhere else in the country. Meaning your Elizabeths, which everybody thinks is great in powder just because they're fat, when really sidecut sucks in powder (look at the revolution in powder skis, starting with the spats), are going to be no fun after 10 o'clock. Snowbird doesn't get groomed, at least the fun stuff, and that's why it's such a great mountain. But when it doesn't snow you get bumps and chops. Get a straight ski, it will plow through the crud rather than bump around on top of it. When you're trying to ski out of a drop at the top of the cirque, making big fast turns is going to be impossible. The 139mm tip is going to hook up. Look around the tram line, what do you see, Gots, B4s, Bros, BC's, they all have very small turning radius'.

Don't buy a ski for the hype, it's designed for bc booters, how often does anyone here actually hit BACKCOUNTRY booters? There is a reason pollard still skis the prophet. The elizabeths are fun for jibbing around spinning. But if you want to actually ski the mountain, you'll want a straighter ski. If you can have a quiver, then by all means get it, i'm sure it's a fun ski, and fun to mess around on. I don't know you, but if you see snowbird how I see it, you'll want a different ski to actually ski that mountain. Just my 2 cents.

Listen to bdskier.

Elizabeth will be fun messing around in powder and jumping in the park but you will hate life in crud/chopped up snow because they are too soft and too much sidecut.

VCT is a better all mtn ski than Elizabeth.

I'd be looking at Scratch BC, Seth Vicious (goes down to 169 if you need since you are smaller), Salomon Gun etc. Seth is probably what I'd recommend off hand, 169 or 179 if you are growing.

dude everyone i talked to loves the elizabeths for everything, everyone says you can do anything on them, and seriously stop saying they will be bad in crud, they wont, as long as you know how to ski. look at mike brodabent he uses them all the time for park and pretty much everything, and he has no problem, and he could probably be using any other ski he wants. if you want to know more about them pm joshbryant and ask him about them.

it seems like the only people bitching about them havent skiied them, the only thing i heard thats bad is that you cant go crazy fast on them cause they have a bit of sidecut, they are meant to be carving all the time pretty much.

If you decide you want the Lizzies...PM RandomHero21 He had a pair for sale, only wanted like $200 for them, he might still have them, not sure though.

Yes. I've skied them. I've skied prophets too. I've skied less sidecut skis too. I still think the elizabeth would be a great ski for UT. But its all personal preference.

.. and I know how snowbird is.

Im not sure steve can preach a ski i dont think he has tried in a condition we never get to ski in here.

I was condersidering them a while back too...could be fun...could be real bad.

im like the same height weight as you and i dont think you would have a probablem because your not as heavy
