i dont really know much about them, do they have freestyle skis?

They don't have twin tips do they? So as far as i know they suck since they don't make freestyle skis... of course they may have made some freestyle/twins for next year. Elan is one of those companies that sells crappy skis to places like sport chek and sport mart. I have never seen good elan skis. They are geared at a totally different market.

Yes, Elan does make a twin tip, the Mo2.

I've demoed tham and plan to buy.

I really liked the pop, and the fact they colud carve like a race ski, very stable too...

Specs on the ski I demoed:

Length: 175cm

Tip: 118

Waist: 78

Tail: 106

Radius: 16m

(185cm gets about 2mm wider, while the 165 get about 2mm skinnier)

Good dimensions for the east coast

Basically they were a super fun ski that I didn't want to return after the demo (I actually came back later for another demo, couldn't get enough of them) equally as fun all moutain as they were in the park.

Negatives:

top sheet graphics scratch very easily

not very "butter" friendly

Obviosuly these are not for everybody, but they fit my requirements perfectly

 
Elan does have twins for next year, and they look fucking sick too. I haven't had the chance to try them yet..

theres an elan rep at my mountain, he says they ride awsome.

also, there was a guy who rips hard, but is like 300 lbs. he rides the 165 like nothing else, if that shows how stiff they are. that was my observation, i didnt get a chance to ride em though

ya elan has skis and they do have freestyle skis beleive it or not and as far as i know they are great and hold up reel well i'd for sure look into them

Yea true I had a pair of Elans the X Carve 5.0 I beleive actually a real solid ski no twin tip but super ski!! I would give there twins a chance

you stupid cunt you obviously dont know where your own ass hole is.... They have a ski called the MO2 which is a solid twin tip ski... Its wood core, slanted ABS side walls, and has a 3rd edge for impact absoption and resistance. They are a solid carver with a nice stiff flex and ride well on park and groomers... not any good for big mountain. Next years are the sam e but with different graphics... Its a great ski and really affordable while having top build quality

 
elan used to press skis for armada the first year they came out, did they not?

When i grow up i wanna be a ski patroler and bitch at those crazy kids with skis that turn up in the back and who ski backwards.... its dangerous you know

I ski on Elans and love them. I have an All-Mountain ski that is solid as can be I take it in to the park, hit bumps, skip through trees or scream down some cruisers. I've skied all of the major brands and I have to say Elans turn and float and handle as well or better than alot of skis that you pay alot more money for. If you are a budget skier or are thrifty with your money, they probably provide you with the most bang for your buck. After all it isn't what you are riding on, it's are you out riding on what you have.

i know that their race skis and all mountain skis rip as well as any other great ski, maybe a little better. i demod a pair of M666 and they were great, a little soft for my weight/aggressivness, but an awesome ski other than that. and i tried my buddies race ski, i forget what the model is called, but theyre green, with a little grey in it, and they were the best race ski ive skied on in my life

The Mantis 777 is a great go everywhere resort ski. 86mm waist i think, it skis awesome. I have never tried any of there twins the dimensions and what not have never really tickled my fancy.

The dimensions all seem to match up, guess you could be right. only difference would be graphics and no "3rd edge" on the Scott?

 
I got it from an unreliable source, but I had a look at them and they look pretty much the same, and they come in the same sieze and are the same width. When I take a look at my scott skis it says:

Made in Slovenia

But as I said I cant trust my source but it seams like its the same ski.

The M02 is a pretty good ski. I have a few buddies who ride them and they say they're good.

I've also seen their other twin from next year, and it looks super sick.

I hate emo.

i have lines now but i recomend them

they rock such a good ski. don't nock them till you try them. and the truth is coming out armada gets pressed by elan. it feels so good when the truth comes out.

They've always made awesome skis and they were the first to bring dramatic sidecut to the market. There are now around ten major ski and snowboard brands being made at the Elan factory, including: Armada, Nordica skis, and Volkl snowboards.

Road old elan downhill skis, solid. Havent tried the twins but I would not wright them off because they are not pushed hard to our market.

Alot of people on here simply go off of hype.. its starting to get old IMO. If I had the time and made 10,000 screen names and just hyped up some ski people would buy them. Half of the people here havent even tried most of the skis they push or say to get. And then there is always the people who go totally off topic. Example: "what skis? Line 1260's or PE's" answer in the post "STL's!!! AR5's!!" It just gets old. I'd say ride as many skis as you can before you decided. And if you cant gather as much info as you can on your options, like side cuts, turning radius, manufacture backing, go flex the skis, price, ect. Sorry for the gripe, some things are just getting old.

they are not the same ski as the scott p3... the scott is pressed by fisher and is a completely different ski. elan skis rip it up. they have the hardest carving all mountain ski out there. the mo2 is super stable on the hardest of snow conditions and its full of pop. the 999 is a sick fat twin that carves real well and has one of the best graphics in the industry. imho of course...

i know someone with these. he has ben riding them all year and claims to have no edge cracks. he claims they are the best.

to the guy who ask anywone sponsored by elan...me kinda, but not a real sponsorship, they gave me 2 suits, hats 05 and 06 mo2s protos, next year m999 protos witout graphics, got them sunday, but because I konw them,Im an instructor and I ski at a famillial place, I do a beck, a cork or just fast switch and everyone is WOW! for the guy who asks for a companie they make:salomon, but not next year, I think they got thei own factory now, armada, volkl...many sowbard companies, apparently they make the best snowboard in the world, the inverse...$$$$, they make boats, bike...alot of things, before, they even made gliders
