Elan Partisan Problem

Well, this year i purchased elans partisan ski, and if anyone has seen the skis they have a bottle opener on one of the tips. when i purchased the skiis for $500 at my LSS, I was quite excited to ride them( My first twin tips). But after riding them today, thsi was my fourth time out this season, i was wiping my edges to find a lovely surprise. The base of my ski is cracked all around the bottle opener. Now, dont get me wrong, i know what P- tex is, but i dont think that will solve the problem... should i be returning these skis or what should i do about it?

well good news and bad news.....

bad news first? yeah,

so the bad news is that i over-reacted and my ever so large problem was nothing at all :(

turns out there was a massive amount of wax left around the bottle opener, which makes sense because of the rivets being in the way of scraping, but yeah it wasnt the base that was cracked, but the massively large wax layer, FAIL, and of course the good news is that i can keep my skis lol
 
agreed. and why the fuck would you buy elan skis, other than the fact that it has a bottle opener?
