El Nino: Hopefully Good News for the East Coast

i searchbarred, but their pics show the opposite from this one? anyone no what the true effect of the El Nino is?

all it says is that the east coast will get more than usual, its not cutting from the west,
and bastardi is a great last name

Do you know how El Nino works? It's not bad for the West, it's bad for the PNW. The most recent El Nino year we got shat on and our resort ran from Nov. 1 to Memorial Weekend. Yes, 7 months of skiing. California and the Southwest get lots of snow. It really is a great thing.

OK, so thinking back the past few years forecasting from 4-5 months early, I have learned one thing:

THEY CAN NOT PREDICT THE COMMING SEASON MORE THAN ABOUT 10 DAYS AHEAD OF THE CURRENT DATE, and they can not predict much more than 3-4 days ahead accuratley, just say if there is a chance of a storm being in the area past that. PNW was called a El Nino or whatever the good thing is going into this past year, and it was average or below average at best, with over a month of 0 snow(late January till I think March)

I'm super stoked for a good EC year, but its important to remember that it will still be much, much better out west regardless of how "shitty" of a year it is

not getting my hopes up..ill see it when it's on the ground. Central PA has sucked the past 4-5 years with snow. this past season barely 3 inches. 95-96 please come back.

we want more snow because it equals more base depth which equals a longer season, and maybe an extra 5ft of air off a jump. i think most of us east coasters could care less about oodles of pow because it's too wet/heavy to begin with, and we dont really know what we are missing out west.

i just want a good base. last year, upstate NY had a great base.

we got some snow then it rained and iced on top of that so there was a 2 inch ice base. then we got some snow that also got iced on so we got a few inches of hard pack snow. then we kept getting some decent powder for the east. my winter was pretty good. lots of snow. not too much rain at all. i hit very few rocks because there was hard ice and snow covering them. hope it is even better this year.

i really hope the east and west get good snow. correct me if i am wrong, but if the west has a horrible winter. could it hurt the ski industry as a whole? i just want to see skiing everywhere progress and get more well known.

there's my 2 cents
