same on my vaio laptop, right after I installed updates from microsoft (don't know if it was SP2 or not), lost internet and can't get it back tried uninstalling/reinstalling network card resetting network calling comcast I have no idea.

use system restore to when you installed it. it will take your comp back to before you installed it, but it will save everything you've done since. start- all programs- acsessories- system tools- system restore
