Effin pissed. Class action lawsuit??

So heres the situation, at my school there's a Ski and Snowboard club that does weekly trips to Blue Mountain. I didn't join the club because I'm too poor, but i bought a guest pass one saturday and went to blue mountain. Anyways, no one organizing the trip mentioned any details of where or when we were leaving, so i asked a member and he said 10 pm. ANYWAYS, i get back to the parking-lot at 10:05, )ill admit, thats my fault being 5 mins late), but the bus fucking left without me. so im stranded at blue mountain. 10:00 pm at night 3 hours away from home, all hotels booked up and no busses going back home. So my only option is to pay the 297$$ cab ride home which ironically costs more THAN THE WHOLE MEMBERSHIP TO BEGIN WITH.
How can le bus leave without someone, do they not take a head count at all? i emailed the ski and snowboard club and they said "in fact we left people behind every week last year" WHAT THE FUCK? you bunch of assholes have been doing this for an entire year and STILL dont take a head count?
Anyways i demand some sort of restitution? maybe class action for all the other people who got fucked and had to take a 300$ cab home.

Quit being a bitch. you showed up late. Ever missed a plane? Sounds like you need to suck it up and realize that responsibility is something you're supposed to be accountable fr.

Yeah you should definitely sue, so that there will no longer be a ski and snowboard team at your school, further killing skiing via lawsuits. You were late, take responsibility for your actions, it was no one's fault but yourself.

easy now tough guy. i take responsibility for being late, but i think if you are going to run an organization like this, there should at least be some precautions and leadership. if they left people behind every week you would think they would implement these precautions?

man, that's still horse shit, whether or not he showed up late. yeah okay granted i hope you learned your lesson, but if it's a trip organized by your school i'm pretty sure it's their responsibility to make sure you're all back, or at least, that's the school i went to, the one's who actually cared if someone was missing.

he wasnt even technically a part of the team, they were helping him out by driving him up there in the first place. also, i highly doubt that every hotel was booked, thats just OP justifying the fact that he overpaid so that he "had to get home".

so? it's a school organized program and he paid to have access to it. if you ask me, both parties failed at their responsibilities to assure all members who arrived safely, also returned that way as well.

I think it's practice for this thing called "the real world," where no one cares if you can't get your stuff together. Why make your school, and all the kids that can show up to the bus on time pay for you not being able to do that?

What a great way to deny your own responsibility and ruin a good thing for everyone else at your school.

frankly though. i took a bus trip with an org. outside of a school and people were latel for the bus a few times, but they always waited 15 mins. it's called respect.

can you sue? probably absolutely not. it was probably written in your waver you should've signed.

why didn't you pay the cab to take you to a bus station or a cheap hotel or hitch hike?

Sounds like you are bad at planning and bad at adapting, a dangerous combination.

Really? The first thing that comes to mind is, honestly,

A FUCKING LAWSUIT!?

Go die in a ditch.

i keep on forgetting that the new ns is full of kids whose parents give them their range rovers to hit the hills, and never make mistakes, but luckily have some golden number to call to bail them out of any "mistake" they make, which, by the way, is never their fault... with that being said your situation actually does suck and I would be super pissed if i were you, but i doubt there is anything you can do bout it.

ya, im gonna hitch hike 3 hours with all my gear in -20 degree weather. but by the time i get a hotel in surrounding city + bus ride back, which doesn't drop off anywhere near where i live, so id have to take a cab from there... it would be about 250~ and a waste of a whole day

S'kinda lame for them to leave. 5 minutes really isn't that long after the deadline, so I'm surprised they didn't wait. Why didn't you call a friend and have them turn around and pick you up?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but you said that you are not a member of the club and that you purchased a guess pass for one day. I'm assuming this means that you did not sign any paperwork to get this ticket and that because you are not a member of the club, only a guest, that the club is not responsible for you. If that is the case, you have no case.

Also, you shouldn't have been late. Plus the fact that as soon as this happened your first thought was to see if you can sue someone whereupon you came to NSG to seek legal advice proves you're not the brightest crayon in the box.

a lawsuit is a retarded idea. that being said, leaving without people all the time is really pretty irresponsible and unless they have a good reason (say, the bus HAS to be back by a certain time) that's pathetic of them to leave without people consistently, especially for being 5 minutes late

THAT being said, you gotta be on time to stuff, especially things as important as a bus taking you home 3 hours. that's the kind of thing you show up EARLY to, no question about it. people who are chronically late are obnoxious and inconsiderate

this. I assumed the other way though. If it was a highschool they usually take a headcount and would wait, if it was a college i'd assume you're pretty much on your own. Not too sure though, i don't do shit like thru my college.

Ah Ha! See you answered your own question. Knowing the consequences of missing the bus you should have been on time. This is what is called the planning stage.
