Aye! That's it, sir Nyman.
Watch the superunknown videos. Some of those guys just do every imaginable combination of spin on and off of rails. 270 on pretzel switch up to switch, or like 450 on pretzel 270 out, you know. None of them actually seem to take care of what they're doing style wise. Rail style is more than just looking hunched over and forced! There is a distance on snow before and after rails too that should be considered and people should take care of that and make it beautiful looking.
I feel a lot of those guys should just loosen up, be natural and stuff. Seeing it happen so crazy though, you figure they are going to win with stuff like this.
Which is sad, because doing everything just takes away from the reasons why I ski. To have preferences, different tastes. Sure, you could 270 on danish switch up danish 270 followed by the same trick, pretzeled. But it would be even nicer if you formed yourself some preferences and opinions. Say, "no! I don't like crowning rails, and two pretzels in one trick is just to much!".
Example, I refuse to front 270 out of rails. I find it to be a really overdone and gross trick. Anybody can front 270 out of everything. I actually just feel that way about all front side tricks. For blind side tricks, I just really enjoy doing more or less simple stuff that hardly ever gets done. Switch on pretzel 270, or 450 at the very most. Or switch on pretzel switch ups, to regular.
That's when I actually spin around on rails. But as mentioned earlier there's so much more than that! Tap on! Tap off! Scissor tap! Scissor slide! Tail to nose tap, danish out! I can't believe I'm writing this stuff down on this website!
