its not so much a matter of if they pay attention to them or not, its about making sure that the terrain is not mistaken for something else (insurance reasons).
Honestly, do you guys realize how much some of the mountains with sick parks have to pay for the insurance? Furthermore, do you have any idea how long people have been pushing for this to be legitamized in order for it to be acknowledged by the teaching bodies of snowsports?
Yeah, its a bit rediculous, but its needed to please the insurance companies, snowsports educational bodies and ski areas.
