How many batteries do you bring out when you film

i have three in my bag but rarely use more than one a day, maybe I have to switch at the end of the day but they usually last pretty long.

Just start playing around with them and you’ll be able to create a unique look.

I'd disagree. Skiing is trending towards 1080p or higher. Almost all of the major films and edits this year were shot in 1080p or higher. With the exception of the child labor and suede movie. full hd and higher seems to be becoming the norm

Child labor is on 1080 60p now if I remember correctly from the Garrett podcast he said they’re using an ac160 now. At least for most shots.

Shit looks so nice. Even though it’s played out I’m gonna keep using my 720 60p hmc, love how it’s got that perfect mix of sharpness and fluidity but a touch of vintage to it too, especially when I turn the noise reduction all the way down (gets super grainy). Somewhat looks like it’s one of those film cameras they would do movies with back in the 80s or 90s lol

true but they have been using a hvx in previous videos and most other crews do so too. youtube fuck up 720 footage so bad so a lot of crews upscale their footy to 1080 or 4k to make it look it better. if you look at most major skate/snow/ski vids, are most edits shot on either hvx or hpx. been those cams for a minute so excited to see what’s next. ac160 or dvx200 looks sick ngl

I just got my HPX170 and for some reason it has a wired blue green filter that I cant fix. like colors that are red show as blue and most white light is green

I paid about $580 for my setup but there is some stuff wrong with it

I've been thinking abt setting aside the cash for a hpx setup before I go off to college but most of my boys already have cams and I haven't had the means to even afford one really

I think the right settings can depend a lot on whether its an hvx (and which version), hmc, or hpx. I'd def recommend looking at the ben jones video that was posted as well as his other stuff. skate forums can be a good source of info too. I'm still learning about scene files and settings but I'm happy to share some of the info I've learned recently if you wanna shoot me a message.

honestly yeah it's kinda played, but at least within skiing it's still a minority of people who film on older panasonics. Seems like more people are getting cx350s or whatever. I like the natural grain too but I get a lot of it cuz my hvxs have pretty bad sensors, plus I never really had my settings dialed last season. Big fan of the hmc, I believe that's what paakku films with

stain, zootspace, mango realski - basically all of oliver's videos I'm pretty sure. Jetskis too and Hello shelby. I'm not the best at discerning different panasonic cameras but I think frantic guys might be filming with an hpx as well.
