how do you make the file size smaller to fit on a web site or take up less space?

for example,3min movie-50mb to 3min movie-8mb

i sleep at the terrain park
 
search on google for a compressor......

(i don't do editing yet, so i don't know much...)

or change the resoultion of the movie....

lower resolution = smaller filesize

What vid editing program do you use? In premiere 6.5, File>Export Timeline> Adobe Mpeg Encoder or something like that. Mpeg Encoder sucks but does the job. I use DivX Pro 5.0.5 in Premiere, better quality and smaller file size.

does anyone know what to do once your in the adobe mpeg encoder to compress the file
