i need an editing program. here are sum of my questions. what editing program do you use? wat can ur editing program do and what editing program would be the best for just starting out, nothing to crazy? please leave ur advice and price range

if your just getting in to it i would start with final cut pro express its easer than final cut pro and you can still so some cool shit. or just get FCP and mess with it till you get it

this is if you are running a mac

 
i have a dell so wat other programs do u suggest

but, if youre just beginning, your computer should have came with windows movie maker. its really basic, but it works for beginners

how do u get it off of ur vid camera then?

any editing program is good if thats all you want to do, try movie maker or pinnacle. when you get more advanced than that then get adobe premiere which is much more complicated

Ya, windows movie maker works really well for easy projects that dont need a lot of work or "Extreme" editing done.

Adobe Premire works well but you have to know what you are doing. My firend has it and i dont really understand it.

you can get massive discounts on all that shit at an educational discount. if you are not a student, then its easy to fake a schedule on mc word or excell. i got final cut and its amazing. its strait forward at a simple level but you can do anything with it.

we have final cut pro at school which is sick but if ur looking for something good and cheap go with adobe premier

What kind of camera do you have? If its MiniDV I am sure it uses firewire. You have to have a firewire cable and a port on your computer. A firewire card is about 20-30 on ebay for either a PCI slot for a desktop or a PCMCI slot card on your Laptop.

Adobe Premier is tits. If you are comfortable with ready through help menus and farting around for a while you should have no problem. My first editing project took me forever, but after that I was able to refine it down a lot and making better stuff. You are given a lot more options for exporting as well as compression. Just give yourself a lot of time.

 
if you have a pc, thers really only 1 choice cause Avid doesn't run very well.

Just download the trial version of Adobe Premier pro 7.0 or Premier pro 1.5 (the newest version). And then after 25 days when it expires, just search and download a crack
