Editing Help

Greetings guys,

Im shooting a music video for a friend and were trying to kind of mimic the style/effects in this video. I edit in premiere cs6. Really wondering what the best way to get the opaque shapes in.

Also at 2:25, on the left side of the video wondering how to do that effect where it looks almost like a slow stop motion.

Thanks for the help!

I would make the shapes in photoshop with no background, and export them as a photoshop file, so when you bring it into premier you get the shapes without baclground. Then just mess with overlay settings (dont remember the right name, the dropdown list with settings like overlay, screen, fade and all of that, its also in photoshop.) Then put like a lens flare layer on top of them and put a matte on the lens flare so its the same shape as the shapes themself, lower then the opacity and use a blend effect like with the shapes before.

It's really all about messing around with the tools, usually the effects i make are just some results of messing around without me actually trying to do the effect.

I'd like to point out though that i use final cut, but i think most editing softwares have the same concept. Let me know what you figure out and feel free to ask for something more, im just not at my computer atm :)

You could also just put clear layers over the footy keyframe the color changes or do whatever with the color then mask the shapes you want.

Also im thinking for the screenshot in the video above, I should just make the file in photoshop, with one half of it as a clear background. Then key it so I have both clips in it. Does this make sense?
