Editing 101?

so i have a sony hard drive video camera...im not computer dumb n i want some good editing software that will accept MPEG video format...just want some feedback on what people are using and what worked well for them? thanks

your probably going to want to get windows media player or imovie, great programs and a lot of pros use em. just kidding, get final cut and after effects

well depends if ur wanting to spend money... anyone know if any thing better than movie maker thats free?

find someone that has premier, and just borrow their CD, its free

im on a pc and ill check for someone that may have the cd but i doubt neone will have it...ive heard good things about adobe.
