Edit Critique!

hey the edits sick.
what camera are you using to film it?
im lookin into buyin a camera and this one looks like nice quality

Reading is good.

Overall, I liked the vibe. The songs gave a real "summer" and "happy go lucky" feel to the edit which I liked.

The filming was nothing special. There were some shots I liked, especially at 2:04 and 2:15 - a little switch from the norm. To me it seemed like typical skateboard filming; always with the fisheye and usually close to the ground/followcamming.

The editing was pretty good - I liked how you kept it fast paced. The other option would've been to take a more chill, artistic vibe (like IHateOhio's video) but this one worked well with the music. I noticed that a couple shots were not deinterlaced (or just came out funny on vimeo). The film burns at the beginning of the second song were completely unnecessary. Like I said before, you went for the fast paced edit, and they didn't fit at all...although they were well done.

...and yes, the transition between songs was a tad long. Usually to tranny between songs, putting a funny quote/scene is effective at keeping the viewers attention while moving on to a new song, scene, etc, ya digg?

Again, overall, not bad. Just work on filming and clean up the editing a bit and you're golden.

I liked it, but here's some things I noticed/ pointers.

It was too much like a typical skate edit. (fisheye with VIG and shakey freehand long lense shots). For those long lense shots, try using a tripod.

Editing was pretty basic. (shot shot shot), but not bad. Try throwing some lifestyle shots in there.

It was overall a fun edit that made me want to go skate.

tell your buddy at 2:20ish wearing red to never look at the camera after landing a trick, the most disgusting thing you could ever do.

okay.....

thanks ihateohio, ive tried using a tripod before but its really shitty so it ends up making it jumpier and worse. but i didnt think the ll shots were really shakey at all
