Edit Critique

I recently finished my 08/09 season edit. Any comments or suggestions on my editing are appreciated. I started filming stuff about a year or two ago. I tryed to match up the song and footage smoothly.

The editing was pretty decent. I'd focus on the filming aspect. Try getting more follow cam/close up shots. Felt like I was watching from the top of the mountain.

editing was fine i think, but i got somewhat bored when you had 2 or 3 consecutive shots of you pretzeling the same box. just my 2 cents.

im sorry but thast was one of the most boring videos ive seen this year. the filming was the exact same for the entire thing. you really gotta work on follows and things of that nature.. just standing behind a box or jump isnt going to do you any good when you are having other people watch your clips and editing them...

i guess the editing was ok. you made it too predictable of what cut and clip you were going to do next. there were also a lotof unneeded clips in ther. one i can call out is the box at night and theres a fuckin ski in half the shot... its distracting and i honestly have no idea what the hell the kid did because the ski was like HFWUEIAEG... you wanna change up the things you are going to do. dont always cut ontune. you are most likely going to be doing that a lot but at some points it just gets really boring. make some out of time.

and now to the skiing... fucking sick man keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Next year im shootin for more follow shots and more tripod shots cuz i just got a fluid head tripod. All the filming was done by my friends who come skiing with me so thats why some shots were far away and some were shaky.
As for the million pretzels at sr and the ski in the way...idk i like to pretzel and that was a wicked fun lil up box. We hiked it for like an hour.
My question is - How do you get clean follow shots with a smaller camera?I have a sony handycam and it works good. I also made a handle but even with that the footage comes out all shaky. It seems as though with out the weight of a heavy cam, handle or no handle, the shots dont come out clean.

your filming could use some work. try having one of your friends do it for you. Be creative with your shots have the camera at the end of the rail so you see your self coming to it.

word of advice...make sure you move the camera do you dont hit it...

well im not saying that pretzels aren't fun, and that they have no place in your edit im saying that if you spread them throughout your edit it'd be a little better.
