Edit Critique +K!

Hey guys, Just wrapped up my season edit and I would really appreciate some feedback! Looking mostly for editing feedback because it obviously wasn't filmed by myself, so if there are any tips you could give that I could pass on to friends on the filming side, that would be great! Thanks much!

Actually honestly couldnt find anything that really stuck out to me as far as editing goes, super clean edit and I really enjoyed it. As far as passing things along to friends I think the thing that really would have taken it next level would have been if the shots were steadier and less shaky. Awesome video though!

The editing and skiing was sick, really couldnt find anything to critique. Maybe on like 2 of the shots the run in was to long same with like maybe 2 other shots the landing was to long. Maybe try and do the same trick 3 times to get a different angle of it and cut that in. Stabilise your shots and for the filmers try and keep the camera steady, do this by using a tripod or something. But overall edit was sick and you avoided using cliches and it had its own feel to it. Nicely done. If we could favourite videos on NS i would favourite this.

That was sick! like others said some of those shots could be a bit less shaky and there's one or two "fade to black" transitions that IMO could've been replaced by b-roll. Actually I'd personnally say a few short b-roll shots is all that's really missing, for the rest skiing and editing are sick!

I second this, B-roll at the start was sick but some more throughout the edit would be dope, changes the whole feel and makes it less rushed and much cleaner.

Really wanted to include some B-Roll in here, actually went out and shot a ton for that purpose, but wanted to try to keep the edit as short as possible (I just can't stand 3+ minute solo edits unless they are FIRE) and i didn't know which shots to take out. Made a few drafts with some B roll but in the end decided it would be better to just make it short. Good news is that I have plenty of B-roll for future work!

Nice with the spare brolly, I would say that a couple B-roll shots, each a second long would only add to the feel. Even if you want it as short as possible, 3 seconds of b roll won't make a difference but they will completelying change the feel of the edit, make it more professional and make it a lot less rushed.

Soz for typos I'm on mobile

First off sick editing and skiing, as said above, but I would recommend you take out some of your filming of boxes...try it on a rail. Plus, I would try to not have the skier out of frame, even though that happened only 3 or 4 times. Otherwise it was put together well

Would've liked this a bit more too aha, almost all of these shots were taken during somebodies first time using my glidecam, so I imagine if they had more practice, filming could've been a bit better. (definitely wasn't perfect my first time using it either!)

that was so good. the only thing I would recommend would be to have the rider wear brighter colors so he would "pop" out more in relation to the stuff around him

Thanks! ya, the camera used for a few of the shots where I wore all black definitely didn't pick up much detail in the dark colors at all. You should've seen it before i messed with the color for a while ahaha

I feel like the quick cuts of slow motion to real time and vice versa was overused a bit. It can be cool a few times in the edit, but try not to overdo it
