What type of metal are edges made out of. and if the edges crack why don't they make them out of something else. The only thing stronger i can thing of is diamond edges maybe copper or silver or gold

gold would be way, way too soft. but you know all the little gangster kids would rock them and say that the gold helps them slide rails.

And to answer the original question, no matter what im pretty sure edges would crack. And if they were strong enough not to, theyd be too rigid and the ski wouldnt flex right and it would probably ruin the rest of the ski really fast.

steel......

and considering gold?! Diamonds?! those would either be some shitty edged skis or some extremely expensive skis....

oh dear god, gold? why would you even consider that. Edge's are made of steel, and gold is too dense and maluable, it woulnd not make goot edge material. No matter what they use of the materials we have now that are cost effective steel is the best choice. No matter what they will eventually crack , think about the amount of pressure you put on them

yea they would, and you would never have to sharpen them. Not to mention that hitting rockes wouldnt matter casue your on stronger rocks

Really!?!? No fucking way!!! I never new that!! Thank you so much for being the itellengent soul you are!!

edges are made of steel and i cant beliveve they havent found or used anything else for edges to make them stronger
