Edge Repair

Ok, so there is about 3-4 '' of my edge missing about 1'' back from underfoot on my '05 Foils, and I'm just wondering what I can do here to minimize the damage and keep skiing on these. I don't really have the money for another pair of skis, and I don't wanna lose the whole edge on the ski. These skis have about 50 days on them, I do just about everything, but I know its probably from rails. So thanks...

No other way? I like p-tex, but its not gonna help the grip.

You can get shops to put edge in, but it will fall out fast.

I would suggest to put epoxy resin where the missing edge is to keep the core of your ski waterproof

go to stuts or whatever good shops are up in Bellingham and get them to fix it, should cost about #80.

I think I'm gonna p-tex it, just to keep it waterproof. But it's cracked in the same spot on the other ski, so I smell something fishy here....

Is your edge actually gone or is the top of the ski like chipped off? I have a pair of the 05/06 FOILs and in between the binding and tail, the top of the ski is like chipped off (on both skis). Like you said, something seems weird here.

edges pop out all the time if you do rails, i know 3 people with last years foils that are missing edge chunks. Epoxy and p tex are the best way to fix your problem. and If you think about it unless you gring retarded, both of your skis are hitting in the same place on rails. so naturally there will be damage in the same place. if you like having edges, don't do rails.

eli, wat did you crack/loose the edge on? was it at baker?

I'd get em replaced at a shop, then stop using them for rails, if you have that option. I have a shit pair or skis I use just for rails.
