my edge is coming off on my 08 09 suspects and i don't know what to do about it it keepse getting bigger do to the multiple splits in the edge and i don't know how to stop it/ repair it. GOOD help gets +Karma

step 1. dont buy suspects

seriously. theres no way to stop it its a HUGE problem with solly right now

i guess you could take it to a shop... i had that problem with my J.O. pros and they just epoxied it up. not really much you can do unfortunately. suspects are notorious for edge issues so try looking elsewhere for you next pair of skis.

edges are almost never warranty-able, edge damage isnt covered.

which is idiotic considering companies can get away with advertising things like edge armor and then not cover edges, but alas, what ya gonna do.

basically yeah, you are stuck. but if they are really park only skis, edges underfoot arent essential. i rode a pair of skis missing a shitload of edge early this season, and it wasnt bad other than on ice and things. sure its not peak performance, but on rails having no edges was actually kinda nice haha

ya that edge armor didn't do anything really but ya riding park with them isn't bad at all i do ride more than just park though so im gonna need to get new skis if the edge keeps coming off more. anyways thanks people any reccomended companies for skis that don't break?

the edge on my armadas is pulling out, I tried gorilla glueing it back in but that didn't really hold for more than a day. I just have to kick it back in every run or so. It's such a shame because other than that they are in perfect shape. But I've never had a pair of skis where the edge didn't crack.

Companies need to seriously beef up their edge thickness, at least underfoot, especially if they are gonna be such bitches about warranty issues.

make sure the area around the blown out edge is very clean and dry; cut off any loose material, and make it a very clean hole then get some epoxy glue; mix the components, fill up the blow out, fix the edge so its in the right position and let it dry for at least a day....(if its a rather large hole you're covering up, mix the epoxy glue with some steel wool, this way your repair is reinforced even more.....

You must be hating because I have never seen threads like this on NS. Edge armor is the best technology in skiing and Suspects are not overpriced.

in my case, edge armor made my problem worse because instead of the edge just coming out, my entire base/edge is pulling away from the core.

use a slow setting epoxy. they are less brittle than the fast setting type so it should stand up to more flex in the ski. The fast setting stuff just cracks and falls out on the first day after a repair, but the slow setting kind last a little longer.

get em to a shop. and make em last through the season. then never buy suspects again lol. my friend thrashed his soooooooooooo bad. triple cracked cores in both skis and yeah. they look like noodles. hahahahaha.
