Edge of Vishnu’s coming off

Minor issue but I want to take preventative precautions to make them last. Just I just duck tape the tips and hope for the best? Any ideas if things I could do to stop them from getting worse?

Epoxy will not work long term. Just do something I didn't when this started on my skis and they got trashed. Cool drawer how the he'll is it coming out of the wall

Thank you, The drawer is built into the wall. I fuck with it aswell

Gflex epoxy. Mix in equal parts, and work it into the ski with a razor blade and a heat gun. Clamp with some flat material (a piece of plastic or something) to spread out the pressure

You want West System G Flex.

You can get it locally if there are boating stores near you or online.

Damn I taught this site well

Or did it teach me well??

fr tho if you really want it to last if the edge gets too mangled, cut it out and epoxy the gap that’s left. The one thing that screws up skis is edges. They’ll tear up the base/delaminate shit like nothing else. It’s like swallowing a piece of glass and your intestines getting fucked up.

on my first pair of vishnus I had this happen, I epoxied it with g flex and cut a lil but of the edge out, cause it was mangled from me eating shit on a rail. These skis were ridden almost everyday by me for two winters, and all of this past season by my lil cousin. Epoxy is still in there, hard as a rock. g Flex is nothing short of god tier.

Epoxy worked for me, pics of the process here:
https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/923029/Rate-my-ski-repair

I used JB Weld Marine and it's held so far but if you're serious about doing it right I would maybe search around some old threads for a better epoxy rec. I found the JB was super viscous so it was difficult to get good coverage inside the gap.

If you need to get epoxy in a small space and it's too viscous a heat gun/hairdryer really is your friend. If you mix it up on something like greaseproof/baking paper you can fold it in half and use the channel to get it where it needs to go. Clamp it up and let it set, don't worry too much about over spill, after 24hrs (maybe 48 depending on your epoxy) you can sand it back down.

I use epoxy all the time for little and bigger jobs; obviously there's a line where you should take it to a pro but I always like doing stuff myself if I can.

EDIT: just seen your repair and it looks dope, that's the good shit my man.

Epoxy

Clamp

???

Profit!

ive had problems with this on other skis in the past. once it starts, it keeps delaming until the ski is unskiable. All the vishnus ive rode stop delaming after an inch. Not sure why or how but I usually just rip the top inch of edge and base off and they keep skiing great for a long time.
