i think that park skis shouldnt have edges under the boot so that nothing would break. sure u prob coundt turn worth shit but its a jib ski right?

they should factory round the underfoot and then sharpen near the tail and nose...oh wait, thanks t-hall

shut up that wouldnt work what would hte core and topsheet hold on to, along with the ptex or abs ont the base, just glued together, just a ton of blowouts, or maby....the could make the edges out of a super strong titanium polymer and make it invisible!!!

The line weapons had not only a plastic underfooting, but a groove to go along with it.

No missing out on 'locking into grinds'.

you would have NO edging whatso ever. they wouldn't let you on the hill with em. like those cheap snowboards you can get from canadian tire

^that would be the piont a super cheep ski with no underfoot edge, that is completely jib oriented, maybe 150-200 dollars. You would not have to have all the other crap on the ski to make it carve well, or anything like that. it would be sick!

ive got a dope one (talking about run in ramps)....ill get pictures soon...its six feet high and six feet tall with a ten ft drop ramp

or, they could make edges that dont suck-oh wait they do. thanks 4frnt and line. and you could file your edges down, and they never get damaged

i think that it could work, just mold the p-tex and the top sheet togther under the boot so no edge is exposed it would be sketchy at first but after they tested a bunch of prototypes im sure they could have a ski thats jib orentated that you could still ride around the mountin at lower speeds

the burton dominant slick has a recessed edge underfoot... like the edge curves into the board and runs through the board them comes out again...havent heard how it rides though.

My friendhas a street dweller... it looks like it wouldsnap in half if you hit a jump on it.

my buddy has the street dweller and took it to pc fo shits and giggles and said it was surprisingly good in the park

to soft for anything other than park but held up ok

and said jumps were easier to land due to no edges you could just kinda butter around n shit

hmmmm, to have a jib oriented ski that can still hold and edge, but not blow an edge becasue of wear and tear from rails.....that's a pretty good idea.......hehehe

think about it.....

You can accomplish this easily... instead of only having the metal edge around the circumfrence of the ski. The ski should have that, but also inbetween the base and topsheet (in the core somewhere) There should be a metal sheet or bars that connect the outer and inner edge of the ski. It would take much more force to rip an edge out this way because the laterial edge bars will connect the two edges under your boot. One will not tear out because it would need more force then normal to rip out... Meaning it's easier to rip an edge off a ski that is only held on with glue, then an edge that is held on with glue and also is connected to the outer edge throught a sheet or bars of metal thats are sandwiched into the core of the ski.

it just needs to break more stuff, which is harder then breaking bond of glue.

thats a good idea, but that would weigh a ton. and the street dweller has faux edges. the sidewall comes down and acts as one. i saw someone ridding it at a mountain, and i guess they work ok.

in science class i sat down to fast and you know how you can sit on your balls. well i did and i sat down really fast and crushed them and right when i sat down i started puking and fell out of my chair. they teacher laughed. i felt like i could pass out i wanted to die.-*NWFT*nUkkA

why not make the edge wider underfoot? if it was 2x the width on each side underfoot, you could still carve and the edges wouldnt rip out. thsis thread is a gold mine for some company

what about those rossi skis they made a few years back... the pow air grind? had a big plate underfoot for grinding rails... no edge ripping out if its a big ole piece of metal instead of a narrow edge :p
