Edge help

1083989.jpeg

My ON3P’s have been skied since 2020, but I bought them secondhand last season and this is the current state of one of my edges. As you can see I epoxied it last year but I’m getting a little worried the ski will get in worse shape and I don’t really have the means to afford a new pair of twigs rn. Any suggestions to keep these running?

Nothing that’s gonna fix it permanently.. your just prolonging the inevitable at this point. I’d say beat em up, have fun. Scrape the old epoxy off and try again, this time with like 10 clamps (?️x10)

last time I grinded into the ski and filled it that way, then clamped. If I keep doing that method will it work just fine?

Try to get a piece of metal like I got here, that’s probably your missing piece. This will spread out that surface area nicely. Also notice how many clamps we got goin on over here lol. Spare no clamp bro.

instead of having it on one spot.

Any chance we can get a look at the final result of that procedure?

I don’t have any pics of the final from this one actually. I was more just tryna show OP how to properly clamp down the area he’s working on.

i used a piece of metal last time so honestly just continue with the same method until the ski explodes?

Even if you loose some edge on ON3Ps it will likely peal out very cleanly without damaging the sidewall or basesheet much. When that happens just remove a section of edge and fill it with epoxy and the skis will ride for ever. I’ve got a pair of 2018 magnus’s missing over 50% of their edge and they’re still skiing when I need them to. ON3P’s will live forever if you keep taking care of them. The question will become when is it no longer fun to ski the skis at a resort (because of physical edge lost, eventually it’s just not fun, especially east).
