edge damage wtf?!

ok hers the deal. so i bought myself some Line chronics this year advertised to have the beefiest edge so i figured this would be a good ski to buy. so i have probably skied on them about 6 days worth of rails....i come back from the mountain today and i have a crack in my edge?! wtf?! and its starting to delaminate on the tail....i am pretty bummed and was wondering what i can do about it? does line have a policy with dealing with issues like this?

thanks for any info

bahaha a crack? thats normal, even with thicker edges I'd say. Shit, Im missing 12 inches of edge on my ar5's and 4 inches on the other ski, and thats 2 months of riding...

they have a big-o edge. but really, come on, it's steel, it's cold, it's brittle. no matter what ski you buy some will be good and some will be back. really i couldn't care less about the extra half mm of edge that the chrons have, that's why i got 12's. cheaper and wiff a more sexier flexxx pattern.

and absolutely no durability problems so far...

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

yeah they'll say 'Yeah you used them on rails fuck you' thats a bummer though man, unless you can prove that the delamin is like due to bad construction.

impossible is really just a lack of determination

Hmmmm... weird, I've been sessioning rails for a lot this year and yet, no cracks. My friend, his edges have many cracks but only after 2 years of punishment.

calm down, my skog's have like 20 cracks in them after 2 months, no big deal. just ski on them they are fine.

Dont be like everyone else...be origional

I delammed some old skogens a long time ago. I just called up Line and some chick was like, 'Send them back to us. Now what skis do you want us to send back to you?' They were super cool about it. Not sure now though.

My PE's are holding up so well, especially considering they were made in China. No cracks on the edges at all. But the topshet does chip allot but thats all cosmetic.

yeah if you take them back to the shop they'll charge you a buttload of money to cut some of the side wall out and fill it with epoxy. I skiied on weak-edged teneighties with a cracked edge for a year and finally ripped a chunk out a few weeks ago.

^ Same here, chipping but that's normal.

If you are very worried about the crack in the edge you could take it to a good repair shop and have them tack a weld in it. It's usually 8-10 bucks.

hmm... You'd be shit out of luck trying to get them warrantied for the edge since you've been riding rails, but - I think a delam is normally considered a manufacturer's defect in the ski. You may be able to get them warrantied for that, and get yourself new skis, which would take care of your edge problem too obviously.

the delam is on the tail of the outside of my ski....at first i thought it was cosmetic but its not, its the sidewall and its peeled back from the top sheet of the cap. its about 4 inchs long and another 8 inch crease further down the tail but hasnt delamed yet but it looks like it will soon
