Edge Cracks!!!!!!

Alright so i bought last years rossi s4's this year and have skied them less than 10 days and have already gotten a edge crack? Is this normal? Because i have had my invaders for a few years and beat the absolute shit out of them and they still dont have a edge crack. I know edge cracks are normal but does this seem to fast? And is there any way a shop can fix this so it doesnt get worse?

10 days seems pretty normal. i got edge cracks after the third day sking. dont get a shop to replace the edge cause it will just fall out again from hitting rails. edge cracks arn't a problem unless the edge starts pulling out.
 
Keep youre edges nice and round and you should be fine.

Edge cracks are normal, if its after a few hours of skiing no.

But around 8+ days is normal.
 
its because you didnt detune before you hit rails, s4's are notorious for edge cracks if they have not been detuned.

there is no way to fix it so dont worry and thats about normal time to start cracking.
 
I've had ar6s suspects and blue steeles all without edge cracks after 30 + days on all of them. that being said I file the shit out of my edges underfoot when I get them so they are round from day one and never catch
 
anyone who hits rails alot definately has edge cracks. sometimes tehy can be super small and hard to find, but you probably have them
 
I've got 30 days on my Moments and only have 1 edge crack on each ski. I noticed them after 25 days of riding rails.
 
Just detune your edges, cracks are normal. Dont even read the comment above saying how long they have skied rails. Everybody skis different so there is no way to tell which edges are more durable.
 
Detune edges and make sure you dont slam the really hard when you land on rail.

My amplids had edge pullout at 20days (same with friends pair)and have 0 edge now

My invaders have lasted 2 seasons with only 2 inches of edge missing, pretty stoked on that unfortunately I have mounted the one ski 4 times.
 
Which amplids? my 09/10 antidogmas have like 10 cracks or prolly more and one inch of edge missing after 40+ days of park
 
08? townships currently have no right edges, and the left edges have no cracks but decided to pull out anyways.

my friend ahd 2 pairs of 09? dogmas and both edges were ripping out within 20 days
 
Just remember, edge cracks are a normal and inevitable part of our sport. What makes a god/bad design is how the edge reacts after it has a crack on the outside. Most skis will continue to retain the edge and there won't be any problems. You only run into a problem when the skis cannot continue to hold the edge material and it begins to pull out of the ski. That is no good, and should be fixed to prevent water and crap from getting into the center layers of the ski.
