The Eddie Would Go contest went down today on the north shore of Oahu at Waimaea Bay. Bruce Irons won it with his wave from the first round I believe. Thought I would pass it on incase there are any surfers on here.

 
yeah, they closed down the kamemehah hwy.this morning because waves were taking shit out. the radio said something like 35 - 50ft waves, i think.

 
Wow, surfer's are nut's, doesnt it break on a reef? or is there a slot, either way those guy's are crazy.

that is such a sick competition. Did anyone see the little grom in the comp? he looked like he was 12 years old. his version of a big-wave board was only like 6 ft! The comp is so sick, how it runs from dec 3, '04 to feb 23 '05, and they wait until the waves break 25ft. surfing is awesome, and the swells coming in today were huge.

 
Yea i will be in Oahu in a week to bad it didnt go down then maybe there will be another big day while im down there!! But yea the comp is sick!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

surfing is the craziest sport hands down. just try goin out there with those huge ass waves, those guys are nutz.

yeah, bruce won on a perfet 10, the one aand onlt handed out in the competitions history, it was a 25 foot bomob, and he tucked in on it perfect, i watched it live on the asp feed, and it looked like he was riding pipe, accept fot it was waiemea, and by the way that 25 feet is by hawian standadrs, witch realy means that it was about 35 to 40 feet solid, the biggest waves it is realy possible to paddle into are about 50 feet. ( about 35 hawiian). but the perfect 10 that bruce rode is almost an imposibility, there are 10 judges, and they each score you out of 10, and you score your best 4 waves, bruce's final score was like 385 i think. bruce is a beast and has been having a real hard time on the tour this year, and im glad to see him get so reckognition and get out of the shadow of his brother andy, he has won the world title the last 3 years. i think bruce has a good chance to win pipe this year if nothing happens to him, i hope he does. by the way the highway got washed out behind the bay overnight between the 14th and the 15th. oh and for those of you who dont know, the eddie doesent happen every year, the last time it happend was 2 years ago, the conditions have to be perfect for it to happen, the bay has to be going off, and the swell has to be from the perfect direction, in the 20 years since its been in existance, it has only happened 8 times.

i was told that hawaiian standard is half of the true height. so a 25ft wave at waimea would really be a 50 foot wave in jersey. but i dont surf, i could be wrong.

 
Johnny was over on maui filming Jaws... it was huge.

qualities solidity well finished after sale services (if broken, ..). so what do you think? out of one fact: armadas black and PINK is ugly and faggy!
 
it wouldnt be double the height of a east coast wave. but just much more powerful... i surf the east coast, and 6 foot waves seem big to me
