EDC 2014 - Newschoolers meetup/info thread

EDC 2014 video was released yesterday I believe and I am so stoked for this year.

I know a lot of newschoolers head to EDC each year, so why not try and meet up either at edc or on the strip or something.

Lets use this thread to spread info and insights
 
looks pretty sick, I really want to make it out this year. We talked and talked about going last year but I think we're really gonna try to make it this year. Vegas is only like a 5hr drive so well see how it goes
 
i also went last year. was insane! will 100% be going again next year unless i land a job overseas, might still fly over even if i do.

It's sounds so dumb but this festival can truly be a life changing experience!
 
I just don't know how you kids do it. I shot videos for those things for a while...that was quite the experience.

imo ultra is overpriced and overhyped

I hope they do electric zoo again, because it was so much better than EDC New York. I'm sure EDC vegas is awesome, it certainly looks it....but oh my god EDC NY was so half-assed. From what I gather from other people who go often, the best ones to hit are TomorrowWorld, EDC Vegas, Ultra, and Ezoo. At least in the states that is
 
For sure. I've heard that a lot of people say the other EDC's or just lame and nothing close to Vegas at all
 
after going to EDC new york, and then seeing all the pictures and videos from vegas, it made me not want to go back to edc unless it was in vegas.

it would blow your mind how half assed it was compared to vegas haha
 
That makes me kinda sad but it would be impossible to put on a bunch of different raves on the level of EDCLV each year
 
yeah for sure, but at the same time have you seen pictures from Escape from Wonderland or some of the other insomniac events that clearly had tons of attention paid to production details and stages? that stuff doesn't make the festival by any means, but it's probably incredible to see in person. each year this stuff gets more and more over the top so I'm excited to see how nuts they go with everything this next time around
 
exactly, that's so sick!

at new york they literally set up stages and a ferry wheel in a big parking lot, offered less than 5 places to eat at, and said ok fuck it let's just go for it.

i didn't realize how lackluster it was until i was at electric zoo, which was 1000 times better

im pretty stoked for the full feature length film theyll be releasing. the one from 2010 was good but this one will be amazing if its done right.

we rented a car the day before and cruised out the the grand canyon, will probably do again next year
 
Check out the recently announced Mysteryland 2014 at Bethelwoods in NY.. going to be a 3 day camping event. I am stokeddddd
 
pretty far. like 4 hours going 130-140kms. the reason i want to go again is because when we finally got there we only had half hour to walk around. would have to leave at like five or six am next time
 
Haha you're everywhere with this. Not to say I don't agree, but literally every thread having to do with any sort of concert or festival I see you in there with a pic of a test kit.
 
As long as people are stupid, don't by them, and continue buying/ingesting bathsalts with their friends I feel compelled to remind people.

I value my life above $20. Apparently many people do not.

did anyone buy their tickets today? only eligible to those who went in the past three years. I missed out, will have to buy next week.
 
Bumping this because festival season is moving closer and closer.

I finally have bought my tickets, plane, and hotel for EDC and can't wait. Lets have an NS meetup!

I might try and drive down For Bonarroo(sp) because the lineup is too nuts and camping sounds fun.
 
Is it going to be at the speedway again? If so, I have to book a hotel for that weekend. This past summer, my windows were rattling at 4am along with douchebags as far as the eye can see.
 
I'll be working it again this year. So I will be there. Also have a friend guest performing mainstage.. so that's pretty neat.

rad dude. well let me know. we can chill back stage and what not.

also, my friend is playing with mako, and she wants me to meet all her producers and such with interscope and what not so she can bring me on tour with her eventually. so if you're around, you could definitely make some good connections.
