Ecstasy Rising

Honestly GREAT documentary made by ABC, and believe it or not, very UN-biased, and definitely not on the side of the government. It's about the beginnings of E, the rise, the positive effects, and the negative (unknown) ones...

Now a lot of people here are young and influencable (so am I), so just remember that TV does not tell the truth, and that this documentary is primarily about MDMA, which differs a lot from most of the ecastsy sold on the streets.

its interesting to see that guy who made the mdma sad that it became a illegal drug. its surprising to see that it could have been a physcoligy drug or something.

that was one of the best things ive ever seen. who woulda thought that a major media outlet would say anything about drugs other than "just say no"?

my thoughts exactly, I would expect something that tells kids that drugs are bad, but this gives a detailed explanation of the positive effects and the possible negative effects as well. ABC stepped it up, props for that.

By the way, I have never (supposedly, long story...) tried ecstasy, and this documentary has not completely changed my views on the subject, but if pure mdma was someday available to me, then it's something that I'd consider...

Yea same here, never tried but this documentary totally changed what I had thought about it. Everyone should watch this movie regardless.

i thought i remmeber hearing something crazy about "if you take E more than 5 times" it irreveribly changes you...but i checked erowid.org and got nothing...maybe that was jsut referring to the impurities

ha, i think i saw this thing a few years back...my momm made me watch it thinking it would say "no", and to both of our surprise that wasnt the case.

wow that was great, i watched that instead of studying for something tomorrow, but it was worth it. it made me miss peter jennings. but it does make you wonder. i've never tried any kind of drug, and i'm not planning too, but it makes you wonder if maybe some of them are so bad for you as the government claims.

^ i really dont think comming down off E is really that bad. I normally take it at night and go to bed and wake up feeling good. It is very addicting though because its way fun and u feel like you could always do it but its very easy to get dependent on and that is when soberness doesnt seem fun or enjoyable anymore. Trust me i know. But yeah this doc. is awesome and might make you asshole people who talk shit about people who do drugs as losers or messed up people think a little bit maybe about why we do it and the positive vibes it brings. I hate all these ignorant fuckers that try and tell me what im doing is wrong when they havnt done it themselves and have no real reason to think that way only because they are brainwashed by their parents and the government and think everything they do is right. Pull ur heads out of ur asses you pussies and step outside the box a little.

well there you go, I talked about mdma, not E as the form it comes in nowadays. The people in this documentary had likely been on pure mdma, and i agree that nobody knows the harms of it yet, but the stuff that a lot of people pop nowadays is cut down with drugs that produce negative effects (hallucinations as you said). Although I know the hangover is created by mdma itself and the lack of serotonine, a lot of the bad effects are from things that belong under your sink...

Whatever, no plan to try it anytime soon, maybe ever, who knows...

Substance control. I think that it is undeniable that E, like many other drugs, is prone to abuse, but yet nobody knows the long term effects of it???? So what defines abuse in that case, since we don't even know the limits of these substances? There was a good example in that video about the untrue rumors that haven't been proved that MDMA causes Parkinson's or irreversible brain damage...
